Here it is December, where has time gone. I just realized this a.m. I have not posted pics of our new home, where we moved to in May. I am really bad at blogging now :( Preston is doing great! He did have a cold, but other than that, he is doing well! We are so thankful for that.Missie loves Union Bible Academy. She has moved into the dorm so she won't have to drive 1 1/2 hrs/day and during winter it would have been hard. She loves living in dorm and having her friends there. She is in choir and absolutely loves that and travels when they travel. She is maintaining a B average, and that is great! It was a big switch to switch from ACE cirriculum to textbooks, but she has done very well. We love our home, and spending our first holidays in it! Will post some pics.

Saturday!

Well, it was a good day. After I got Preston showered, Junior and I went to town, all by ourselves. We hit Dollar Tree, 2 thrift stores, and Walmart to return something. The lady in front of us was returning several of her little girls gifts. The poor greeter was having a time with all of her returns. I had to use the bathroom so Jr. waited in line. Well, the man printed out the return sticker but didn't put it on the tag of the boots we were returning. Junior handed me the bag with the boots in it and the sticker. Well, I didn't know there was a sticker and got the bag only. So when the lady had checked the item in and gave me a gift card then she asked about the sticker. So I must have left my wallet out laying on that little spot by the debit/credit card machine and went back to find the sticker which was on the floor. I came back and gave it to the lady and went on my merry way. When I got ready to check out, I didn't have my wallet. I about paniced! So we went to the office and as I thought, I had left it on that little shelf and the girl had turned it into the office. Whew! Sure did scare me! I was so afraid someone else had found it before she had. But all is well that ends well, I guess, but I think it took a few days off my life! Mine and the children's SS cards, all my ID, bank card, etc. would have been gone. Anyhow, thank the Lord that it was safe. Anyhow, we just enjoyed looking around and being alone. It is nice now that the children are older and we can do that.

Well, Christmas is over and I am so glad. Don't get me wrong; I love the reason for the season, but it is so over commercialized and a very hard time of the year for anyone with mental illness of any kind, including depression. So it can get a bit stressful for us. The day after Christmas, Missie and I took down the tree and packed what little decorations I had out, away. Now as my cousin's wife remarked on facebook, we only 364 days (363 as the time I write this) left until we do it all again. LOL

Today is my inlaw's 50th wedding anniversary, and can you imagine that I forgot to send a card? I am glad for the example they are to us; 50 years and hopefully many many more. Junior did talk to them on the phone.

My brother was talking about how much he spends at Christmas and has gotten me wondering what we spent. He thinks maybe $400-500 but I don't think so! I am going to figure it out! It will be interesting to know. But I know we didn't spend much, because we didn't have much to spend. He was talking about the gifts. Other than the children, we didn't buy for many. I haven't sent my mom or step-dad anything yet, and we sent my inlaws $25 Walmart gift certificate. I have to get something sent to my parents soon. They are so good to us.

So that is it for now! Tomorrow is the Lord's day.

Christmas!

Well, it is Christmas Day!

Yesterday Junior and I were away for several hours; just us! It was very nice. Our church gave us a love offering and we were able to buy a few more gifts for the children, and what a surprise it was! They were sooo thrilled. We got Missie a phone card and also a card for texting for her cell phone. She was so happy! I was able to get some VHS for Preston at the goodwill! Our church has been so helpful and supportive of us since we have been here; they are wonderful people. We are so blessed.

Anyhow, we shopped yesterday, went out for lunch, and went to visit another pastor in town whom we knew years back. We had a great visit with them; it was so relaxing.

Today we had steak and shrimp for dinner; fries, slaw, pickles, cheese and for dessert I had made custard and chocolate pies, and had bought some cheesecake. So we had eaten good today; an untraditional Christmas meal. And we have played games. Junior and Missie played Monopoly (electronic banking version) and had a blast with that. Missie got it for Christmas from us. Then we all played UNO attack; I like that game! And we relaxed! I did wash some clothes and did some work in my craft room (which is part of the utility room) and organized it some.

Here are some more pictures!

It's Christmas!

Well, we had planned to have our Christmas this weekend because we had planned to go to Canada. Well, Preston has a HARD time waiting for Christmas. He is much better than he used to be, though, and didn't worry every day all day. So we had 2 evenings of opening gifts. He thought he had gotten them all the 1st time, but in a round about way found out he hadn't and I had hoped to wait until Christmas Day, but we didn't make it. So we opened the rest up last night.

Preston got: Shower chair with back (one of his favorite gifts)
3 Talking Mister Ed dvds
4 Adventures in Odyssey VCR's (I got these for .99 each at Goodwill)
4 McGee and Me VCR's (also Focus on Family and from goodwill)
1 pr. of flannel sleep pants
John Deere calendar and $15 Burger King gift card from Missie
$15 and chocolates from his grandparents
another box of chocolates from his great MawMaw Watson

My mom sent $50 for him and I found a portable VCR for $50, I had never seen one like it, so I got him that, from her. A guy in Indy had it and Preston and I went and got it.

Missie got: Electronic monopoly game
Love Comes Softly latest dvd, (she now has them all)
Laptop desk to use in bed or in a chair
2 extension games for the computer game she got from my mom
new backpack for school
Handmade beautiful wooden box made by her grandpa and chocolates
Ear muffs from her great MawMaw Watson
$15 from Preston
Bath set from where she drew names at school
Ornament with candy inside from her teachers

My mom sent $50 for Missie too and I got her a set of Hogan's Heroes dvds and a computer game she asked for.

So overall, they got enough! We cannot spend a large amount of money at Christmas and that is not the point of Christmas, but they were happy!

Missie babysit tonight for the Durgan's from church, they have 4 children, and she enjoyed it and enjoys making some money.

We decided to have shrimp for Christmas Day. They had the round trays with sauce on sale at Walmart for $5. It was the medium sized trays. Missie has been wanting some steak so I got a small pkg. of steak (Preston cannot chew it) and she and Jr. will grill it to their liking and we will have it and shrimp, fries, coleslaw, chocolate and custard pie for dessert. We had all the traditional food at Thanksgiving so decided on something untraditional! I did get a turkey ham for one other day, though. We had to eat the turkey hame because of Junior's blood pressure.

I made several loaves of pumpkin bread today. I had found some small loaf pans at a thrift store back in SC and got them, and used them as well as 2 regular sized loaf pans. I took a regular sized loaf to the pastor tonight with a card. They weren't home but someone was there so I left it for them. I plan to give some to our associate pastor and family, and Missie's teachers. I didn't have anything to give them yesterday when they had the party. They turned out sooo good. I was so pleased.

So that is the update for this time!

I'm back!

It is amazing how the days fly by, and I don't blog! If you have a facebook, you can see my updates quicker there.

Anyhow, plans for our Christmas have changed. We are not going to Canada to be with my family. The weather is just too cold and unpredictable, and Preston has to be bundled up every time we go somewhere and it is just too hard. So we are waiting until spring when it will be nice and go. Junior and I both have colds or sinus problems. I just don't have the energy to go on a trip right now.

So we plan to be here in our own home for Christmas. We are still trying to decide what we will eat that day. For Thanksgiving we had a big meal at the Fry's home, then I cooked a small ham and small turkey here for us, so we are not sure if we will have that again, or what. One year we bought lots of the good cheese and lunch meat, and all the fixings for subs and we enjoyed that.

Wed. afternoon both children go to the new doctor, so we can get referrals for both children. Missie needs a rhumatoid dr., she is suffering a lot more since we have moved. Preston needs a psychiatrist, neurosurgeon, & gastro-interologist. Preston is having a lot of pain and nausea in his side again, so I am going to request another ultrasound to see what is happening with the gallstones they found last year in SC. Anyhow, Jr. is getting off work at noon to take us to Lebanon to the new dr. A man in our church knows him and he is very nice! So that is a nice thing to know!

Sunday a.m. was our church children's program. It was very nice. I forgot the camera so didn't get any pictures. Tonight is the church Christmas supper and Missie went with the Johnsons, as the rest of us didn't feel like getting out. It is cold and everything had turned to ice when we got up this a.m. Missie was amazed that the leaves were even frozen, that were in our yard. The doors on van were frozen too. I was so sick, but had to go to bank and make a deposit.

Jr. is working every day, either for Mike Peck or our pastor. Last week he worked 32hrs. for our pastor and only 1 day for Mike. But today and tomorrow he is working for Mike.

Friday is Missie's Christmas party, and she will be off until after the new year. So now we can sleep in for a couple of weeks, yah!!

So this is the latest update!

Busy!

Well, it has been a busy yet good week.

I took Preston out to eat pizza, then to goodwill, and to the Health Dept. to get his flu shot. So we have that taken care of. He enjoyed it so much; the time we had out together.

Missie has been busy with school, play practice, performing in the school play last night, and being in the Frankfort Christmas parade tonight. Preston and Jr. went to the parade, and I stayed home. I didn't want to get out in the cold! We have snow and it is quite cold here. The pastor's wife said it is not usually like this here until January. So I guess we are getting January's weather in December. Hope January isn't much worse. But we enjoy the snow. Preston loves to sit on his chair in front of the window and watch it fall. She almost froze though, and was glad it was a short parade. She did great in the school play. It all turned out well.
She also sang in the missionary service on Wed. night. She and I have been friend's of Jessie Hales for a while, and she offered to sing for his missionary service, and he said that would be fine, and thought she did awesome.

Junior's c-pap is on its last leg; we are not sure it is even working to its full capacity. He is snoring too much, and that indicates it is not doing all it should. We were able to buy a nice used one for $75, and order the clinical manual for it off of ebay. It tells how to set the machine to his level of 18. This one is set at 10 or 11. It only has 70 hrs. on it, and is a newer one. So hopefully it won't take but a few days to get the manual in and he can have it set to 18 and start using it. Without insurance right now, he cannot afford to have another sleep study done here and get a new prescription; unless the free clinic would help him with that.

I have all the gifts ordered for the children that I am getting. As I said before, we don't go overboard in spending; it is not the reason for the season to lavish our children with lots of things they don't need. One of the things I got for Preston is a new shower chair with a back on it. He will be tickled about that.
I still have to get a gift card or something for my inlaws and get Junior's 2 grandmothers gifts sent out. I remember them every year, even if it is just a little something. They have been good to us over the years.

We are planning, Lord willing, to leave here Christmas Eve morning and travel to Canada, and be there Christmas day and Friday, and come back on Sat. My sister's whole family will be in on Christmas Day and we will get to see them. We haven't even met my nephew's wife. We are hoping the weather will be a little clearer when it is time to leave. It has been at least 10 or 11 years since I have spent Christmas Day with my mom. Missie was just tiny. The children already know they won't be getting any gifts that day; because Mom already sent the money and that is part of what I have used to get them what I have gotten them. We will probably have our family Christmas the weekend before we leave.

Well, wanted to write an update. Catch you later!

Singspiration

http://www.fbhc.info/archives.htm

Click on 5th Sunday Sing and you can hear and see our beautiful daughter sing! She sang, "I'd Rather Have Jesus." The 1st mic wasn't working right as you can hear, so she had to switch mics but she did great. She got so many compliments after the service. We are so proud of her. I am soooo glad she can sing! I have passed my singing ability on to her. My voice is about worn out from singing all the years I sang. Anyhow, we were so proud of her tonight. We have to brag on her some!!! She does everything Preston can't do. We are proud of him for what he can do, don't take me wrong! Missie just found out today that literally about half of his brain is gone. She was quite shocked. She gets so aggravated at him sometimes, but I know she loves him. He gets on my nerves some, too, LOL. It is normal. But like I told her, if we don't love him, no one will. I will make sure he is taken care of as long as I possibly can.

We woke up to snow this a.m. The children loved it, and frankly, I did too! It was so pretty. Missie and I went to church as usual. We are to get more snow tonight.
We will see!

Junior is working for Bro. Mowery tomorrow and probably Tues. Thank the Lord he has some work. God has been good. I haven't had much money to even buy anything for the children yet. But mom has sent $50 each and that will buy them something nice, and I have one gift for Missie and 3 dvds for Preston. And really they don't need much, but I know as children they love to get Christmas gifts and that is normal. But I am glad that over the years we did not spend a lot of money on them, so this year won't be much different. Missie has asked for a study Bible. I have to get her to show me on the internet which one she wants. We stick with the KJV. She wants to be able to understand it better when she reads the Bible. Isn't that awesome for a 14 yr. old to ask for a study Bible for Christmas? We are so blessed to have her for a daughter! Preston loves the Lord with all of the mind that he has. You know, I almost got up at the end of the singspiration. The last family that sang was the Campbell's. They all looked so nice up there, and I almost got up and said that is the result of going with God; not going the easier worldly way, but going the Biblical way. Once you start down the lesser road, you never know where you will end up. That family is a testimony of God's grace when we chose to follow Him wholeheartedly.

That is about it for tonight, almost my bedtime.

Cold!

Well, IN is cold! My brother is worried because he says we are not ready for winter. He says Junior needs long johns, gloves with fur in them, etc., but Junior doesn't feel he needs these items, LOL. It was 18 this a.m. when we got up. It never got past 33 today.

Well, Junior worked Monday and Tues. this week, could have worked the rest of the week: Wed. for Mike and Thurs. and Fri. for Bro. Mowery, but he was sick. He has had a terrible cold and fever, and slept a lot. But at least he worked 2 days this week; next week he should be working 4 days.

Mike and Bro. Mowery and going to keep him busy. The days that Mike need him, he will work for Mike. The days that Mike doesn't need him, he will work for Bro. Mowery. So thankfully he should have work 5 days/week! Thank the Lord. That will be such a blessing.

Missie's school had a field trip to a dairy farm yesterday. She enjoyed that. This week they only have school Mon. and Tues. Then she will be off the rest of the week. She is almost ready to retest and see if she can move up in Math and English. She has been doing so well on the make up paces but she gets nervous when she had that testing online. Pray for her that she will remember it all, so she can move up. She has tried so hard, and it would be discouraging if she didn't do well.

Preston has had some sinus problems, but otherwise doing well. He is happy that Christmas is almost here, but not worrying about it like he used to, since he has a good working shunt now! That is a relief! LOL

Not much other news; but wanted to update everyone!

Sunday!

Well, how time flies. Junior has feverishly been putting in applications, and so far only has had one call. It looks like he will be getting a 3rd shift seasonal job at Walmart, but since the turn over is quite high there, it might work into something more than seasonal. He also can get unemployment if he doesn't work at Walmart. Either way the money is low, but it is much easier to stretch some money than none at all. It is hard not having any income at the moment. I don't know how we will ever get out of this financial valley we are in, but God knows! It is hard to catch up when you get behind, with the economy the way it is. But one great thing is that gas has really come down! Praise the Lord for that! Now if groceries would come down, that would be even better!

Missie went roller skating on Friday with her school for PE and has been in a lot of pain since. Every time she does something like this she suffers days afterwards! We do have a family dr. for the children and as soon as the children are in their computer, we will go there and Dr. Wright will help us find the specialists we need for both of the children. Missie wants to get help so bad, so she can live a more normal life. The prescription pain meds. hardly do a thing for her now, concerning the pain.

Last Sat. p.m. we had a GBS rally and we kept 2 of the girls here for the night, from the choir. One was Katie Kaufman: Jr. and I both went to Bible school with her parents. And we also kept Aleena Smith. They were both very sweet girls. Missie enjoyed it so much. Tonight we have UBC quartet and the youth are getting together after church at the school for a meal and fun time. Missie is excited about that.

Our pastor's parents celebrated 75 years of marriage yesterday! Isn't that wonderful? Preston loves the older Bro. Mowery and loves to hear him testify! He will be 95 this month. He also loves our pastor Bro. Mowery. He takes time to sit down and visit with Preston at the back of the church. After the service on Sunday nights, Preston likes to sit down on the bench at the back and visit with people who come by. I have seen Bro. Mowery sit down there and visit with Preston. Preston loves our church and the people; everyone has been so good to him!

It has been snowing here this afternoon, and it looked so pretty falling! We still get excited when we see snow as it was very rare to see it in SC.

Missie and I are in the contata for Christmas so we have practice every Sunday p.m. at 5. So Jr. takes us and comes back and gets Preston ready then they come.

So that is the latest. Should have more news this coming week, concerning a job. I have been praying something would work out so Jr. doesn't have to work 3rd shift. A day time job would be better for him. But he has to has some job, so at this point has to take what he can get, even though the pay is soooo low, only 1/2 of what he made in SC and $5/hr. less than what he made at Laminque. Oh, the guy from Laminque came by and visited and wants to hire Jr. back if they can get some jobs in that they have bids out on. But so far none have come in. A lot of places are slow right now.

Until next time!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Tuesday!

Well, it is Tues. Jr. has not had any work so far this week. But Walmart called him yesterday, they are calling his references, etc. If he gets this job he will be working 3rd shift. That will be hard for him, and hard for me to get a lot done during the day when he is sleeping. But it will be a job, and he has to have a job! We are just living week to week, not knowing how we will pay our bills, but so far so good. Bro. Mowery preached about trusting the Lord Sunday p.m. and how well we could relate to that! Junior also applied for unemployment from SC and if he gets it it will be $261/week. That would barely be enough, but I will take it. It is much easier to stretch some money than none at all, LOL. I learned a long time ago how to get the most out of a little money! So far my mom has been paying most of Missie's school bill, so thank the Lord for that. God does supply!

It is cold here now, and we have had to turn on our gas heat. Have no idea how high these gas bills will run; our hot water heater and range (stove) is gas too. Time will tell.

I will give Preston his shower today, and then he is riding with his daddy to put in some more applications for jobs. He enjoys just getting out and riding and seeing things.

So that is all I know right now; will post if and when Junior gets a job! God is in control.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Thursday

Well, this week is almost gone. Jr. has worked every day this week for Mike Peck. He has an interview at Walmart at 9 a.m. and there a couple of jobs in Lafayette that came through Careerbuilder. He will probably go there after his Walmart interview in a.m. One of the jobs is at Caterpillar. They have great benefits, but it is 2nd or 3rd shift. But we will see how happens.

Tonight is our school's soup supper and silent auction. We have lots of baskets up for auction. You can see these and bid on them here: www.frankfortca.com

Preston couldn't get to sleep last night. It was 2:30 a.m. and he came in and woke me up and I gave him another half of a pill. I hope we are not starting that problem again. I am letting him sleep late today as he is so excited about going to the soup supper. He is enjoying getting out a lot more since he has recovered from this last illness. So that is good. Missie and I are serving soup from 7-8 and then cleaning up from 8-9. Preston said he wants to stay until the very end. So we will see if he really decides to do that.

Gotta run and give Preston his shower and wash his hair and get him dressed for the big event.

Monday, November 3, 2008

Hello on Monday!

Well, it's Monday again. It was quite a busy weekend.

We had a wedding at our church on Sat. After over a year of waiting, (due to the bride not being from US) Bradley and Elizabeth were finally able to have their wedding. It was beautiful with a big crowd!

Sun a.m. was Pastor appreciation service. I am so thankful for our pastor, Bro. Mowery and for our associate and teen pastor, Bro. Johnson. Bro. Mowery is a very caring pastor. Our pastor in Easley was very caring too, so we have been blessed!
Bro. Johnson and his wife, Jody, have done a lot for Missie. They are a blessing! We are privileged people!

Sun p.m. was a service about the Reformation with communion. It was a special time during communion. I am so glad for the Savior who died for our sins that we might have life everlasting. The time of communion was very meaningful for me last night.

Junior hasn't been able to find a full time job yet. We are waiting to see if he can draw unemployment off his SC earnings. We pray he can for the winter. Today he is working with Mike Peck, a man from our church who is self-employed. Preston started to worry about 3 o'clock, because he was not home from work. When he worked in the wood working shop, he was home at 3. Well, it will be about 6 this evening before Junior will be home, and that bothered Preston for a while. He is ok now. He missed having his daddy around, too, as he has been going with him every day when he applies for jobs.

Thurs. is our soup supper; fundraiser for our school. We are going to that, and Missie and I will be helping to clean up after it is over. We also have a silent auction. We are looking forward to going.

I put several auctions on ebay today; praying I can sell some stuff; we just need the money with Junior not working. My ebay link is:

http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/homeschoolmommyof2

Well, I did a big laundry today, vacuumed and mopped the floors. So I was happy with what I got accomplished.

Until next time!

Medicaid!

Well, Preston is NOW ON MEDICAID! So we don't have to buy anymore of his medication. CVS tried to get us reimbursed for the meds. we did buy, but are having problems with the cymbalta so we are not sure if we will get that back or not, and that is the one that was between $80-90/week. We sure could have used that money with Jr. not having a job.

He is putting in lots of applications; but so far no good news yet. He put in one at Walmart too as they are hiring, he won't make much money, but stretching some money is easier than stretching no money. He will take anything he can get right now.

I am headed to clinic in a few minutes to sign papers so I can get my medication. It has been a real blessing to have this clinic.

Missie has small group teen meeting at 5, then if I feel up to it, she always goes with me to mine at 7. But I don't feel the best; I have drainage down my throat and feel blah! So we will see how it goes when I get home from the clinic. Jr. is fixing supper tonight, so that will help.

'Til next time!

Bad news!

Well, when it seems things couldn't get a lot worse financially (with having to buy $90 worth of medication every week for Preston) Junior arrived home on Friday and pulled up to the garage. When I went out he was unloading his tools into the garage and I asked him why. He said, "Guess." I said, "You got laid off." The only problem is, we don't think he can draw unemployment, but he will find out for sure. So after Oct. 31st, we aren't sure if we will have any income, except for Preston's SSI and that doesn't go too far, but is better than nothing! Monday a.m. Jr. will be out looking for jobs. He and I may both have to work different hours at Walmart or somewhere. We will see what opens up for him. When Missie found out she said, "We won't have any money to buy Preston's medication." Bless her heart! Hopefully it will soon come in to the clinic! So that is the latest. It seems there are sooo many problems in life these days. It will be hard I think for him to get a good job due to the economy and the upcoming election. But God is able to work it all out.

Missie arrived home from youth challenge, and what a wonderful time she had and was spiritually refreshed. We are so thankful for the sacrifices of our church to take our youth there and back in that big bus! Thanks to Kevin Wilhelm for driving them, and Travis and Jody for helping to watch over them, and being there as well. It was a privilege for her to be able to attend. Preston and I watched the service last night, and saw Missie up there singing in the choir, and we enjoyed that. I told Jr. if we have to eat bread and drink water, it is worth it to see her so involved and happy! She has gained a lot of ground emotionally, and spiritually. And that is the reason we are here in IN, for her! And God has blessed her tremendously, so we just have to trust Him to take care of us.

So wanted to tell you all the latest.

A Whole Week?

Wow, I haven't blogged in a whole week.

We are all alive and well here! Missie finished her 1st 9 weeks and even though she was 2 weeks late (actually only had 7 weeks) she did 15 paces which is what she was supposed to do in 9 weeks. So we are so proud of her. She got to go to the Sarah Palin rally on Friday with friends from school; then after church went to a family's farm for a youth get-to-gether and got home about 12:30. She really enjoyed it all.

Revival ended tonight; it is kind of sad. But it is tiring to go almost every night. We can actually afford to go to revival here every night, if we want. I only missed 1 night. I enjoyed the Tillis' ministry. Listening to them sing was like being back in campmeeting. I love the old time singing with the spirit. They are precious people.

It is almost bedtime, but wanted to check in. The Lord is helping us buy Preston's meds. A man at church gave us $40 on Friday night, and the meds. were $84. That helped us to be able to buy some groceries. God never fails. I will be glad when the meds. arrive at the clinic and we won't have to buy it. I go to the clinic on Wed. to see about getting help for me to get my meds. Mine is over $300/bottle. All of Jr.'s is $4/bottle. I have 2 that are not. One is an arthritis medication and I am not sure how much it will cost.

Jr. will have insurance around January 1st at his job. They pay all of his except $1. We may not add Missie since she has medicaid. He is hoping to get a raise then too to cover the cost of insurance for me. So we will see.

Hope you all had a wonderful Lord's day.

Hello on Sunday!

Well, I didn't make it to church today, but I enjoyed the services via internet! What a blessing that is! This a.m. we had a wonderful service, and there was no preaching, and I sat in my living room with tears running down my face, enjoying the service, even though I couldn't be there.

Missie has been so sick. She thought she was feeling better and then yesterday afternoon started getting feverish again, and is very weak. She has a lot of drainage in her throat, that goes along with this head cold. Junior and Preston went to church tonight, and I watched it on the internet. I could see Preston sitting in his pew rocking, it was so neat! Our pastor preached a wonderful sermon. Tues. night we start revival, through next Sunday. I plan to attend this as many nights as possible. The teen church sang tonight, and Missie and I both hated that she was not there for that. But there will be another time.

Well, since the cymbalta was so expensive, we decided to try paxil again, but it didn't do well. Preston started getting irritable, and we just had to go and buy 17 more pills to do us until next Friday. It was $75. We will have to buy 21 pills/week until they arrive at the free clinic. That will probably be about $100 a week. I don't know how we will do it, but God does. God is able to speed the delivery of this medication up, and have it arrive much sooner at the clinic, or speed up the medicaid! Something has to give in this area!

I have been working on some baskets with handmade cards in them to donate to our school for the silent auction. I hope they sell good for the school. We are having a soup supper, and silent auction on November 6th. We are hoping to do well, and raise lots of money for our school.

Hope you all had a wonderful Lord's day!

You won't believe it!

You won't believe what I am going to tell you! So fasten your seat belts and hang tight for I have some astonishing news!

Missie received her medicaid card today! She is now on medicaid. But Preston is not; and it will take a while for him. Does that make sense? Don't they realize a disabled person NEEDS it quickly??? I just couldn't believe it when I got the card for Missie in today's mail! I am thankful she has it, for now we can get help for her arthritis, unless it is hard to find a rhematologist who takes it. That is the next step to find a family dr. first who can refer us to a specialist.

Missie is sick again with cold, fever, etc. She has laid around all day. I walked and got her paces and she has worked some in them. It is like she has a relapse now. I hope she gets better soon. Several people around here have this cold or flu.
So far Preston has not gotten this. Hopefully he won't.

Please keep praying for Preston's medicaid to come through and/or the meds. he needs arrives quicker than usual. God is able to speed up this process.

Bedtime, so will go for now.

What a week!

It has been quite a week, but we are getting things moving concerning Preston's medicaid and medications! When the caseworker put in all the information for regular medicaid for Preston, it came up that they wanted to see about disability medicaid for him, so that is the route we are going. She has to send paperwork to SC to his doctors, so that could take a couple of weeks. Never again will I take medicaid for granted!!!

Yesterday Junior took Preston to the Open Door Clinic - free clinic - and they saw the nurse practitioner and she couldn't believe his history! It is a lot to comprehend when you hear it for the first time. He truly is our miracle son! He is so cute because he doesn't want to be called a "boy" anymore, but a "man." I told him he is not a girl, so he is a boy, LOL. He thinks it is something wonderful that he is a 20 yr. old man now! It is truly a miracle that we have him, and that is he sooo sweet. God has been so good.

Well, anyhow, the clinic got things moving and gave him 2 bottles of medication that he takes, and some samples of a 3rd. We temporarily put him on paxil which he was on before cymbalta (for depression) until we can get the cymbalta in. It is $485 a bottle. Today I had to go back to the clinic and sign all the papers. Then she told me it would take 3-5 weeks for the meds. to get here. We are ok for a couple of weeks. Our pastor told me to let him know if we needed help financially to buy some before the free meds. arrive as there are people who would be more than happy to help us buy it! What an awesome pastor we have. Our church here has really stood behind us through all of this and prayed. It means so much to us.

I guess Missie will be the next one to go to Open Door and see if we can get her on some arthritis medication. She did get some better, but tonight is in quite a bit of pain and didn't get to prayermeeting.

The boss told the guys where Jr. works that they could start working some overtime, but there isn't enough to do for them to work much overtime. But we are so thankful he has a job, and in a month he will get insurance on himself which they pay! I may go to the clinic too for my meds, we will see how much the insurance will cost to put me on it. He hopes to get a raise then too.

So things are somewhat better, as we have meds. for a couple more weeks. And the Lord is able to speed up the medicaid process and also the arrival of the medications to the clinic. God is in control!

So that is the latest chapter in the lives of the Watsons!

Awesome Sunday!

It was an awesome day today, on the Lord's Day.

Junior and I attended church this a.m. as Missie has a cold and had a headache.
Bro. Mowery preached a wonderful message and some went to the alter.
This evening we had another great service, and then after church we had Travis and Jody Johnson and their family over for chili! We had a good time of fellowship.
Our church is praying for us concerning Preston's medication. It has caused me much anxiety wondering what we will do if the clinic does not give us the meds. Bro. Mowery preached tonight on faith; I needed that sermon. I don't have the faith I should have. I need the Lord's help. Only God can work this all out. I will be so glad when Tuesday is over and we know something. Not knowing is harder than knowing, I think.

We might get to go to my mom's for Thanksgiving! She and my stepdad want to pay our way for us to go up. We will be there about 1 1/2 days but that will be better not seeing them at all this year. I haven't seen my mom since August of 2007. I would love to go and see them, if the weather is ok. If there are snowstorms, we won't go. It is in the Lord's hands.

'Night all!

Awesome church family

We left an awesome church family in Easley, SC and moved to IN and found out they are awesome as well. I requested prayer Wed. night about Preston's medication and not having medicaid, and they rallied to help us. We ended up getting a big food pounding and over $100 in cash. Isn't that amazing? I have more food than I do cabinets now! Thank you all soooo much!

Wed. p.m. we had a wonderful prayer meeting. God came and it was such a wonderful time of prayer for needs. I was so discouraged over this medication. We bought 17 pills for Preston and it cost $85. Another of his expensive medication is running out this week. But we go to the clinic on Tues. and will see what they can do to help us. Please pray they can give him the meds. until we get medicaid. Anyhow, Bro. Steve Gardner handed out paper at the prayer meeting and people gave a lot of requests and we wrote a lot of them down so we could use the list in our devotions. He was so passionate about each request; it was so refreshing! Then Bro. Mowery asked if anyone wanted to pray at the altar for our needs; and many went up front and prayed. It was close to 9 p.m. before we got out of the service. But it was so worth it.

Just had to brag on our new church and how they have helped us. Jody Johnson told me that the Lord didn't bring us up here to forsake us now! How true that is. Missie is doing so well and loving school. I know it was God's will so we just have to trust Him!

Back already!

I am back already. I called the free clinic today, "Open Door" Clinic and Preston has an appt. a week from today. So I hope they can help with the medication until he gets medicaid.

It is cool here today; Preston went out and sat a while. I am posting a picture of him in his swing.

I have all the air conditioners off and the windows opened. Maybe the air conditioner days are over for this year.

Got all the wash/drying done and have showered Preston. I swept and mopped the utility room, kitchen and bathroom, so that is done for this week.

Also put some auctions on ebay. You can take a look if you wish.

Medicaid and more

Well, I had my appt. today for medicaid, for both of the children. Believe it or not, because Preston is disabled, there is more red tape for him than there is for Missie. But because 2 of his diagnoses are cerbral palsy and asperger syndrome, she said they usually get passed quicker, and get the medicaid quicker. So we are praying that this is the case, and that he won't have to have a physical by a dr. here. Please help us pray about this!

Another good thing is that Junior can get some overtime! So he is going to be working some 10 hr. days. It will help a lot! I love having him home by 3 in the afternoon, but no overtime hurts! So some days he will work overtime. They have lots of work right now, thank the Lord.

Our pastor is on vacation, and we really missed him yesterday, but last night Bro. Travis preached on prayer. I think a lot of us struggle with this issue. Being able to keep myself focused is a problem for me. It is also a problem for Missie. Our minds are so busy, that it takes more discipline for people like us to really have a good prayer life. I am asking the Lord to help me.

So that is the news for this time! Tune in another day to see what is happening in the lives of the Watsons!

Thursday

Well, I had a mishap last night (nothing new for me). Missie and I went to a small group prayer meeting at a home, and I backed into a car sitting along street. Missie nor I neither one saw it. The man came out and I offered my insurance information but he wouldn't take it. He said it was a work car and that I really didn't hurt it, and that he was more worried about my van. My van has a dent in the fender, which Jr. can probably pop back out. The man of the house where the meeting was, came out and he is friends of the guy whose car I hit. So it all worked out. But I felt so bad. I told Missie maybe I had better stick to going to the church for prayer meetings, but she loves to go to the small one as one of her friends is always there with her family (Sara Dershied's dd). Missie actually went to 2 last night. Travis J. has one at 5 for the youth on the 3rd and 4th Wed. night of each month, then he does another adult one at 7. She enjoys Bro. Johnson so much! He has made such an impact on her life since she has met him.

Happy Bunny, thanks for saying our house is beautiful and homey looking. I try to make our homes homey inside and out. We are just renting. Our house in SC was rent to own and when we moved we just gave it back to the landlord because it was still in his name etc. We have been told by Johnsons that they would like to sell us this house, but we will see. Right now we can't afford to buy much of anything. I can't wait until Feb. when we get our tax refunds back and we can get some things we need for the house. We need more mini blinds, doors for the children's bedrooms, trash cans, curtain rods, curtains, etc. But these things can wait except for the doors, we feel those are a priority. We are getting a stove, and just need the line to hook it up to the gas. It will make cooking easier, but I have managed.

Well, I went to the local office to apply for medicaid yesterday, and I have an appt. on Monday. So we will see how that goes. I have to find some papers that I need to take with me. Jr. is having to get off 1 1/2 hrs. early to come and stay with Preston while I go for that. He will work an extra 1/2 hr. the other days to make it up to 40 hrs.

Today is Preston's shower day, so waiting for him to get up and around so I can get that over with. He just seems to tired. I think it is everything catching up with him; the emotional and physical part of the move, as both is hard on him.

I had thought maybe in a month we could put Preston on our insurance, but because of his age, we are not sure if that will work; but Jr. will check it out at work.

Until next time.

At last!

We ended up having to get a new modem from the AT&T guy, not sure what that will cost! But we are online! Hoping to stay online now.

Tomorrow in a.m. I have the interview about Preston's medicaid. So we are praying it won't take long, and that he will get it.

Today was Missie's school picnic and she had a wonderful day! This is the best situation for her! She is thriving and doing well.

On Sunday, we had Bro. Hedstrom at our church both services. He preached the a.m. service. John Parker had told him about us moving up here and he didn't figure out who it was until he saw Preston on Sunday night, and then came and talked to us. It wasn't too long ago he was at our Easley church. It is really a small world after all.

Preston still mentions that he misses SC; and his church; but I think he will fine. Change is harder on him than the rest of us.

Last night Missie and I went to Women of Worth. We are so close to everything here; it takes less gas since we moved here, because everything is so close, except Jr.'s work which is about 30 min. away. Anyhow, we enjoyed the meeting; one of the ladies from a pregnancy center spoke to us and we had a baby shower and she took lots of goodies back to the shelter that we donated. One meeting we are going to get together and make handmade cards! This will be lots of fun. We will send them to shut-ins, sick people, absent people, missionaries etc.

Union Bible College is having Old Fashioned Day in a couple of weeks; and Missie plans to attend. It is nice to live where there are lots of activities for her, and people she can go places with. She is excited about going as she has friends at UBC.

I found out about a clinic in town, that is donations only. They have a couple of drs. that come in and they give meds., so I may take Missie there about her arthritis. She has good days and bad days. But she needs some arthritis medication instead of just pain meds. But she hates to have to go; but she does hurt a lot more up here than she did in SC. So we will see how it goes. I may end up taking Preston too to get guidance about where to take him for his specialists. Until we get medicaid, we can't take him to any specialists. We don't have the money to pay for the visit. We are really broke now! Jr. is making less money and we have a school bill; although my mom is helping with the school bill, thank the Lord. She is also buying us a stove! We did get a refrigerator, and the same people have a stove, and Mom wants us to have it. My mom is so good to her children; she is a precious mom. I hope I have her for many many more years. Missie would love to get a job to help out, but it is hard to find someone to hire 14 yr. olds. Someone told her of an icecream place that hired but when Jr. took her there, she had to be 16 to get a job. It might be too much on her to work very much and go to school, until we get the arthritis situation under control, but she sure would like too.

It is my bedtime, so I will go for now.

Old Friends!

I guess next to family, the greatest thing would be "old friends." Some old friends have left lasting impressions on our lives. Well, we happen to live in the same town of some of these "old friends." When we pastored in TN we had them for a revival; worshipped with them at Knoxville camp etc., and they loved us, and loved our children. They were never blessed with children. Anyhow, when I told one of my best friends that we were moving to Frankfort, IN, she said, "That is where the Wrights live." I couldn't believe it! Well, it is true and tonight we were privileged to have them for a visit. They are dear, and wonderful people. I meant to get a picture, but failed to do so. We planned to visit them soon and will get a picture of them then. They have been a blessing in our lives. It was wonderful to hear him pray again, before they left. We plan to go to their church when they have revivals, etc.

It is nice to be online again! And be able to blog and read other's blogs, too. I had a lot to catch up on!

I am tired, but wanted to tell of our wonderful visit this evening. It sure is nice to be with old friends when you get the chance.

I finally outwitted my dear husband.....

and we are online at home! I had to reset the broadband connection and now we are online! He couldn't get it figured out; for once I have outwitted him! That is hard to believe. But I am glad to be back online!

Tonight Missie and I went to Angie Davis' for a small groups meeting, and it was wonderful. We are studying, "If You Want To Walk On Water; You Have To Get Out Of The Boat." I enjoyed it. One of Missie's friends from school was also there so she had a wonderful time too. This girl found out she could sing and has asked her to be in a quartet, so that is wonderful. I am thrilled about that.

I am so tired, so it will be short and sweet tonight.

Tomorrow I have to shower Preston, and clean the house; we are having company tomorrow evening, that we found out lived in this town and pastor another church here. We were close friends when we were pastoring, and haven't seen them for a while. It will be so nice to see them again.

'Night all!

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Hi, we are still alive

here in IN. It is cool today and Preston and I sat outside for a while. We are adjusting. I have been praying for a refrigerator, and found one today for $100. Praise the Lord, will be getting it Friday evening, Lord willing. She may have a gas stove too! I can handle not having a stove, but using a dorm sized refrig. for a family of 4 is getting old!

Missie loves school and is doing great. She is doing extra work and has taken some tests already and her grades are 95 and up! She loves school!

Preston is doing great. I can tell he is settling in more now. He sat outside on our porch in his swing for a long time. Then we have brought him to library and this is where I am doing my update.

Jr.'s job is ok; he hasn't actually done a whole lot yet, as they are at the tail end of some jobs, but more is coming in soon.

Oh, I have a huge prayer request. It is not automatic in the state of IN that when a person is on SSI that he will be on medicaid. So at this point, Preston has NO HEALTH INSURANCE at all. That could be a big problem if he gets in the hospital. But I have an appt. next Wed. to see about his getting it. I am also applying for Missie. Not sure if we can get it for her; but why not try. Her arthritis is so much worse here; she is in a lot of pain every day. It breaks my heart. She needs to see a rhumatologist and get on some good meds. The SC dr. called it juvenile arthritis, but she needs to see a specialist. So I hope she can get medicaid.

So that is the latest for now! Sunday was another great day in the Lord; our pastor was on vacation, but we heard some good preaching from others. We are thankful for a holiness school for Missie. It is such a blessing to walk in there and see the teachers all looking like holiness people. It was worth everything to move here and have her in the school.

Hope to be online soon at home.

Internet

Hello everyone, we got our phone hooked up but it is taking longer to get the internet. I don't know why, but that's the way it is! We won't have it until next Wed.

Well, I want to tell you about our church! Sun a.m. Jr. and Missie went and Bro. Mowery preached a great sermon. Then we all went Sunday night. On Saturday night Preston was crying and saying he wanted to go to his own church in Easley! He was apprehensive about going to the new church. But on Sunday night we all went, and he loved it! What a service we had! God came during the congregational singing, people went to the altar and prayed through; then testimonies, 2 special songs, more testimonies, then several got anointed for physical needs. So after that service, Preston was sold on the church! Missie was touched too by the service. It was such a blessing. From the platform, Bro Mowery said he was glad we were all there, but then singled out Preston and said he was glad Preston was there and that Preston hadn't wanted to leave his church in SC and that he didn't blame him. He said he could understand that as Terry Going had been Preston's pastor. Then he said he was going to try to be as good a pastor to Preston as Bro. Going had been! Isn't that sweet? Bro. Johnson saw him walking up the ramp and went to the door so that Preston would see a familiar face when he walked in the church. Everyone is so nice, friendly, and apparently happy to have us! We are thankful to be there. To be able to walk into the school and see everyone looking like holiness people, is such an awesome experience. Many take it for granted; but not us! We have longed for a holiness school for so long for Missie. She loves her school, and the teachers, principal etc. She has new friends. It is wonderful.

On another note, Missie is having a lot of pain since we moved with her arthritis. I am having a lot of pain too; but I think it is just exhaustion catching up with us. It has been a hard move, and she started school the day after we arrived. So hopefully in a week or two, we will feel better.

Junior started his new job on Monday. They are slow right now, but have some big jobs coming up; but want him because of his experience. He will be getting 40 hrs. right now, so that is ok.

So that is the latest for now. I am almost all unpacked, and I finally got caught up on my laundry.

Talk to you all later!

We are still alive!

Well, here I am finally getting an update done. We still don't have internet at our house yet. Hopefully we will next week.

Here is a rundown of what has happened since Sept. 1st.

We left SC on Sept 1st about 10:40, and hoped to make it all the way through but didn't. At 9 p.m. we stopped at Seymour, IN and got a motel. We got into Frankfort about noon on Sept. 2nd. Since then, it has been a mad rush, not stopping much at all. I have most everything unpacked, and trying to find a place for everything. I am having a yard sale in about 2 weeks. We got rid of a lot of stuff in SC but not enough! LOL

Preston LOVES it here! He loves the pastor; Bro. Mowery is a jovial person and cuts up with Preston, and he likes the Johnson's as well. Missie is absolutely elated to be in school. She loves the school; the people are so nice, and she has made new friends! We live within walking distance of the school.

Jr. starts his new job on Monday. So we are here and settling in. Wanted to check in and let everyone know what is happening!

Saturday, August 30, 2008

It's Saturday

BUT not our typical Sat. at all. Work, work, work, but we are done for today! Some men from the church came this morning and helped load most of the stuff. That was such a big help. Junior was having a lot of dizziness this a.m. and we couldn't have made it without them. Then a lady friend from church came and helped after they left; and we helped Junior finish cleaning out the building and lean to and he hauled 2 loads to garbage and loaded the tools and stuff he wanted to keep. She did dishes, helped with supper, vacuumed through the house and even filled some nail holes. I wish I could pack her and her family up and take her with us. We are now living out of suitcases, but that is ok! We have to take down our bed and Preston's hospital bed Mon a.m. and load the table and chairs. And some stray stuff, and clothes. We are alive but totally exhausted. Not sure we can live through this again! What a job! And we are not as young as we used to be, and it is sure showing up! But I think we may stay in IN! Missie has 4 years of high school, and then wants to go right on UBC, so that is the perfect place to be. If Jesus tarries, we want to be close to her until after her college is over, and she starts a new life of her own.

Just wanted to check in and say hi and let everyone know we are making it!

Thanks to the men from church, and my special friend who came and helped today! You know who you are.

Pictures

I am posting some pictures of last Sat. when my inlaws visited. It was the last time they will ever be in this house! Kind of sad, but it is just a new chapter in our lives. Missie can hardly wait to get into school. I finished buying the rest of her stuff tonight, and she has done all the testing online, so that is done! She will be ready to start when we take her and get her registered.

Anyhow, here are some pictures.

Answered Prayer!

God has answered prayer and I sold my accordian for $300! That will help us get Missie in school. God is so good. My mom bought her 2 uniform outfits. Paces are free since we will be attending and supporting the Frankfort church! God has just worked so many things out for us!

We have taken most things off the wall and we have filled in the nail holes. We started packing Preston's room today, got one big box packed. He got a bit stressed today when we started on his room. We did get his stuffed animals cleaned out and the rest packed and some other things. But he doesn't want any boxes in his room, LOL. He is a funny guy sometimes, LOL. But you gotta love him and love him I do!

It is winding down! Sat. we get the truck and get all the boxes out of here and some of the furniture. Then I will clean real good. I want it looking nice.

We were renting to own, but when we decided to move, it just went back to the landlord. He already has someone to rent to own; a mutual friend of ours and the landlord's. I don't feel we lost any money, we would have had to pay rent anyhow. I wish we could have gotten it in our name, paid Mike off, then sold it and made a profit to help us get started again. But the Lord will take care of us.

Missie is doing online testing here to see where she is at in her subjects and see what learning gaps she has. I am glad she can do this at home this week, and have that out of the way, so when we get her to the school, she can start right in the paces. I have talked to Bro. Coleman a few times, the principal, and he is very nice and accomodating!

Am just anxious to get on the road to IN and get there and get settled back to ordinary living!

So that is the update for this time!

Packing

Missie and I packed 4 more boxes full today and Junior stopped on way home from work and got us some more boxes. I washed inside and outside of all top kitchen cabinets as I am wanting to leave things as nice as possible. There are full boxes filling our house. Missie is counting down every day now. She is so excited. We ordered her uniforms today and had them sent to IN to Bro. Johnson's home since they will probably arrive before we do.
Please pray I can sell my accordian. That will help us to have that little extra money. Every cent counts right now.
My inlaws are coming in Sat. to spend a few hrs. to see us before we head to IN. So it will be nice to have them.
Not much other news right now; but wanted to check in!
Thanks for all your comments, haven't replied to them yet but have read them!
Keep praying for us.

School started today!

Well, the public schools started here and Missie's new school! She is sad that she is not there. But knowing she will be there, helps a lot! I hope these last 2 weeks go quickly; I am sooo ready to get this move on the road. We have a lot of packing done. We haven't started packing any of Preston's stuff yet; next week we can do that. We have all the cleaning out done except for his stuffed animals. We hope to do that this week. He goes to the dentist on Wed, for a checkup. Hope all is well. Or else they will have to squeeze us in a week and a half to have his teeth fixed.

Missie packed some small glass things this a.m. and we used clothes to wrap them in. I took all the stuff out of my closet that I won't be wearing in the next 2 weeks and have them all packed, too. Preston's winter clothes are packed (he hasn't missed them out of his closet.) We are doing well to have 2 more weeks left.

Preston is sad about leaving his church and friends. I reminded him that Free Wesleyan used to be our church, and that we had had to leave there, and that he did fine. He said he knew; it is just the thought of leaving his comfort zone and making new friends. He sits at back of church and greets almost everyone that comes in and enjoys it so much. Maybe he can do that in Frankfort, as well. But he keeps repeating that Martha Castle told him that it would be easy for him to make new friends up there. If it wasn't Martha, it was someone who told him that, and that is reassuring to him. He will do fine. Change is just hard for him; really for me and Junior too. Missie is young and adventurous, and it doesn't bother her as much.

So 2 weeks from today, we are leaving SC, probably forever. It has been our home for a total of 12 years. We know a lot of people here. But for Missie's sake, it is time to move on. We have been told that we will not be sorry for doing this, to have Missie in a holiness school. I want her to continue to be a fervant holiness girl. God has helped her sooo much in the last few months; He has changed her and her desire is to be in a holiness school and not long after we arrive, Union Bible College will be in revival and we plan to go over there some. She knows some young people over there. So we are trusting God to work out all the financial needs and details, as He knows why we are doing this! I tend to worry; but we have to do the best we can, and trust the Lord for the rest.

Keep us in prayer!

Well, my birthday has come and gone

again for this year. I would rather stop having them but it doesn't work that way.

My family took me out to eat to Silver Bay on my birthday and I enjoyed that.

I have been packing my china, china inherited from my mother, dishes inherited from Junior's grandmother, and other sentimental things people have given me. But it is packed now and ready to go. Thank goodness for that.

We plan to reserve the truck tomorrow. We want to be sure we have it when we need it.

It is kind of scary now that it is settled. Jr. is training someone for his present job, our house is gone to someone else, and the die is cast, so to speak. Change in hard but the Lord has led us to this place and point in our lives, and will not fail us now.

Gonna try and get some rest.

It's Our Anniversary!

Wow, 28 years ago today in Napanee, Ontario CANADA I became Mrs. Howard P. Watson, Jr. As I look back over the years, it makes me feel tired, LOL. A lot of water has gone under the bridge, but one thing has remained! Our love for each other! Isn't it awesome after 28 years we still love each other? We don't see this a lot in our world today. In 28 years many people have several partners! Not us. We are in this together for the long haul!

I wish I was as skinny as I was then, LOL. I am posting a wedding picture. The rest all all packed away. I had to dig this out of a box to even have 1 to post.

On another note, Missie got his knot under her chin. It was sore, and by today it had grown and was going down her neck. So Jr. took her to Dr.'s care and the dr. said it was swollen lymph gland and gave her antibiotics. If it gets bigger or doesn't get any smaller in a week, she needs to have a follow up appt. for a biopsy. I think it will be ok. He said even bacteria from her acne might have gotten in there. So hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick.

Well, our house here is sold. A guy Jr. worked with at both places he has worked here in SC is getting here. He came and looked at it today. He has a daughter and granddaughter that will be living with him. It will be good for them. He has had it rough; his wife left him several years back and the daughter has given him a fit at times. Anyhow, Jr. and I are glad he is getting it.

Last night, my good friend (like a sister to me) came over and spent the night; she and her 3 children, and stayed until about 11 this a.m. We had a nice time together. I will miss them a lot. We have remained close over the years. Like I said, she is like a sister to me and I love her children so much. Her husband is in training this weekend with the National Guard, so we decided to get together for part of the weekend.

So that is the latest for now! Oh, Missie was so excited because all the paperwork from her new school came in the mail. It is so reasonable in price, and her nana is buying her some uniforms and helping buy her paces (books) too. Anyhow, she has read through the whole handbook and is very excited.

Until next time!

Wednesday

It has been so hot this week. It was 102.4 here and 82 in Frankfort. Hopefully it is a bit cooler up there. Maybe at least the humidity won't be quite as bad.

Well, Preston's side was doing sooo much better, until he took a tumble Friday evening when we had him out. He had to step down over the curb and he doesn't know what happened, but he ended up flat on his back on the concrete. He was ok except he skinned his elbow and then his rib started to hurt again. But other then a little pain now and then, it is doing much better. He is still taking zantac at this point.

We are packing!!! It is going surprising well so far! I like to have enough time to pack a little along to avoid having to rush.

Missie had to give up her puppy and she was very sad about that. We took her back to the humane society. They will not put her down unless she gets really sick. Missie worked there and knows how they deal with the animals. Hopefully she will get adopted by a nice family. We couldn't find anyone to take one. Missie misses her a lot. We could not take her to IN; the trip itself with her would have been a disaster!

Bro. Johnson called today, and they have sent out of the school information to us! So am anxious to get that and get her uniforms, etc. Missie's nana, my mom, has offered to buy her 1 uniform, so that will help a lot!

Yesterday I had my physical and tomorrow Preston goes to the dentist. We are trying to get this stuff done before we leave.

Friday is a very special day!!!! Junior and I have been happily married for 28 years! Time sure flies! I couldn't have gotten a better husband, and he is a wonderful father to our children. We have been through a lot together in these 28 years! I will try and post a wedding picture; oops, they may be already packed, so that may have to wait. We were both so skinny then; why does time put weight on people?? LOL Anyhow, our anniversary is Friday and my birthday is Monday. I would rather not have any birthdays but guess I don't have a choice, LOL

So that is the latest; found out today that 3 families are moving to Frankfort, us being 1 of them, around the same time, and we all have girls to put in the school; no boys. The new principal has 2 girls too. So it looks like the girls might outnumber the boys!

Over and out for tonight.

Friday!

Well, its Friday. And the packing has begun!!! Missie and I got a bunch of boxes last night, and we have packed several today.

The zantac seems to be really helping Preston. Yesterday he hardly had any pain at all, and hasn't said a word today about it. He feels the meds. is helping him, too. Thank the Lord for that.

My house will be tore up now until we move; but I refuse to wait till the last minute to pack. If we do some each day it will be much easier on us all.

I thought we had a stove and frig given to us; well, it turns out, my friend's husband doesn't want to give away the frig., but we can have the gas stove. So that is good we have a stove. We will just need a frig and some type of a couch for our living room; I would just like to get a futon maybe. The Lord will supply a refrigerator but it may be after we get there.

We have lots to do around here. We want to leave it looking as good as possible when we leave, and clean.

We are taking Preston on an outing this evening, but wanted to update before we left.
Thank the Lord the zantac is working!

Wednesday

Well, I have been giving Preston zantac. It seems to be helping, but he still has a pain around his rib; really a mystery to us what that could be. He is not having any nausea and not bad pain, he mainly complains about it if he is getting tired or worrying about something. If the pain gets worse, I will take him to dr. If it is the ulcer, it may take a few days for the zantac to work. It is too high to be his appendix. So! We wait, keep praying, and prepare to move.

We are still cleaning out stuff. Hoping to get boxes this weekend to start packing! Everyone pretty well knows. Jr. talked to the landlord tonight. We have been renting to own, and have paid 5 years. But he has property adjoining ours and we are just giving it back to him. Having Missie in a holiness church and youth group is more important to us than owning a home right now. We hope to buy later on again.

It is about bedtime, but wanted to update everyone on Preston!

Monday, July 28, 2008

Prayers please

for Preston. 10 years ago he was hospitalized for a bleeding ulcer and he is having the same symptoms again. I bought some stronger stomach medication this evening, over the counter, and please pray it will relieve the symptoms. We don't want him landing in the hospital again! And not before we can get moved! We are trusting the Lord to touch him. With Preston he can go in for 1 thing (in the hospital) and end up with sooo many other problems like last year. We have to leave here by Sept. 1st. As it is, Missie will be late starting school. God has opened all of the doors and the devil may try to hinder us. BUT GOD CAN DEFEAT THE DEVIL!

Friday, July 25, 2008

Where to begin?

I tell you what! God has certainly opened all of these doors for us. It is unbelievable.

Junior got a job today, in Lebanon, IN. He will be working at a place that makes counter tops; right up his alley! He went to a lot of places, and was told at one that they could almost guarantee him a job, then went to Laminque! When they saw they resume they were excited and took him out in the factory and he got to meet the production manager and he was excited too! They told him he will have a job when we arrive in IN! Isn't that awesome!

It is time to move on, away from SC. It is a little sad. We have lived in SC a total of 12 years. This last time we have lived here 8 years. Many things have transpired in these 8 years and it is not like it was when we first moved back here. But God knows what Missie needs and has granted a teenage's girl wish and has answered her prayers. What an awesome God we serve.

Now to the packing and boxing everything. But it will get done. I have already been cleaning out everything and have gotten rid of lots of stuff, and am sure I will find more to get rid of.

Just had to update everyone!

News Flash!!!

I ended up staying home with Preston and Jr. and Missie went to Indiana. They are very happy with what they are seeing! They liked the house, and it has a back yard, garage hooked onto the house, front porch, small back deck, back yard, quiet town and best of all, 3 bedrooms. They met the pastor and associate pastor (associate pastor has the house we will live in) and saw the school. Missie is soooo excited. Several children in the neighbor ride their bikes to school; the school is pretty close. That will solve the problem of not having a 2nd vehicle right now. Tomorrow all day, Jr. will be trying to get a job. He has put a lot of applications in online, so will follow up on a bunch of them. It looks very promising that we will move! Preston was excited when he found out about the front porch with a roof on it and the mailman brings the mail right to the porch! He can sit out there and wait for the mail each day.

Just had to share!

Friday!

Time goes so fast.

It was a disappointing week; but I asked the Lord to take the sadness away.

Tonight we took Preston out and we had a good time. He is such a sweet boy now!
The Lord opened the door to talk to my friends about coming to church, and that if they go to Hell they will take their children with them. I told them sometimes that is all that has kept me going; knowing if I let up and give up, Missie will do the same, and be lost. They are supposed to come to church Sunday; I am sooo hoping and praying.

Wed. we leave for IN. I have been cleaning out and trying to organize my card making stuff, and have fewer containers, and Preston let Missie and I clean out his toys! He would tell us yes or no whether he wanted to keep them. We had several garbage bags that we freecycled to a family of 8, who homeschool. The children in that family love when we clean out stuff!

I dread the trip in a way, but am kind of looking forward to the break for a couple of days. I know I will miss my children tremendously.

I am very tired and headed to bed. Good night all!

Disappointment

Well, my family is not coming to see us.

I should have known better to get my hopes up. But I thought they might actually come this time. My parents wanted to come, but my brother decided to not come. We are disappointed, but life goes on.

Lord willing, Junior and I leave next Wed. p.m. to go to IN. He has the change as a CNC operator for a granite and marble company. This just might be the job the Lord has for him.

Been making cards this evening. Check out the new card on my creations blog.

Need to scan some more tomorrow and post them. It is so theraputic for me to make cards.

Can it be true?????

Can it really be true? That my mom, stepdad and brother, Myles, are leaving Canada tomorrow to come and see us???? Oh my goodness, I can't believe it! Myles is on holidays for 2 weeks, so they are heading to SC to see us. I am almost afraid to be so happy. I am afraid they will change their mind. Once they get out of Canada, I will be more hopeful. Not sure how long they will stay, but I will appreciate every minute I have with them.

Then, another hard to believe fact! Can you handle 2 in 1 day?

Next Wed. evening, Hannah, one of my best friends, is coming with her family, to stay with Preston and Missie and Jr. and I are leaving for IN. We are going up to see our house, and to see about a job for Jr. We will come home on Sat. Hannah is a CNA and can handle caring for Preston. Preston has consented, can you believe that? He loves Hannah and has known her since he was a little guy. I think she is about the only one who could stay with him. She has 3 children, who Missie adores, so she is sooo excited about this. JJ is a little over a year old, and is just the most adorable little guy! Missie loves helping care for him. I just can't believe that Jr. and I will have a trip alone, for the 1st time in almost 20 years. Wow, we won't know how to act. I hope I don't chicken out at the last minute about leaving Preston. It will be harder to leave him than Missie, because Missie goes away to youth camps etc., and I have been away from her; but haven't been away from Preston. But I think it will be good for us!

So this is the exciting news for today! Tomorrow may be a different story; sure hope not!

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Good News!

Well, I am not going into detail but just had to share that God has supplied the need for Missie and Junior to take a trip to IN so Jr. can see about jobs. So as soon as he can get away from work for a couple of days, they will go! We can also pay off a couple small loans we had, and hopefully have enough left to get a refrig; stove, a couple of window units for air, and a gas dryer, used of course, when we get there! God is soooo good. We are getting excited. It is only about 6 weeks until we move, if the job situation works out.

Preston slept great last night and was up about 9 a.m. today and I took him out today for a little while. Missie went with us, and we hit a couple of thrift stores and McD's. Then Missie and I ran into the library to get Preston some dvds he wanted.

I am hurting bad tonight in my neck and shoulders, so I am going to bed soon. Just had to share how God is helping us!

Sleep!

Well, the dr. called in yet another medication for Preston to help him sleep. So we stopped the lunesta and started the new one tonight. I hope and pray it works.

My arms have been aching a lot; not sure why. My left arm and shoulder has been hurting a lot. I write with my right hand, but I do a lot of other things with my left hand. So my left arm and hand gets used a lot and it has been hurting a lot. I even took my tylenol arthritis and my arthritis meds. and it didn't take the pain away. It dulled it, some.

We are waiting on the Lord for a job for Junior. God will send the right one along.

Missie was some better today. She was in bed most of the day yesterday. Just a normal time of the month situation for her. Her lower back hurts a lot during that time. Preston and I went to church last night. I was privileged to hold little Silas Castle for most of the service. What a sweet baby he is! He loves to watch his daddy lead the singing. He is such a cutie!

Well, I have to get carpet cleaned and kitchen floor scrubbed with Missie's help this week. Hopefully tomorrow I can get carpet done and then Wed. the floor. Did I ever say I hate white kitchen floors? In a state that has red mud? Maybe my next house won't have white floors, hopefully!

Going to bed. Preston is very quiet; I hope that means he is sleeping peacefully!

Job Hunting

Well, today I have been job hunting for my dear hubby, in and around Frankford, IN.
Cintas have about 3 openings, so I put his resume in there. He would be loading and delivering uniforms, rags, etc. That would be easier on him than having to do cabinet building. I also went to manpower in Frankfort and sent his resume in there too. It is also on Monster and I am hoping and praying for good results!

Missie is having a good time with her best friend at camp. She has learned some valuable lessons this week about being a true friend. She has been bored part of the time at this youth camp, as it is not like our youth camps. But she wanted to stay for the sake of her best friend, Kellie, and I am proud of her. I had a best friend in TN when we pastored. We just took every possible opportunity to be together; and I have been trying to teach this. Just being with your best friend is special, even if you don't really enjoy what you are doing. She has learned that this week. Incidentally, this lady is still my best friend, even though she is in AK where she and her husband pastor and I am in SC. I have seen her twice in the last 8 years, but we are soul mates, if you know what I mean. It is so funny, because we are so much alike in many ways; yet we bonded and get along so well. Our husbands are alike too! They are quieter and more level headed then we are, LOL.

In a.m. I go to have my blood work done, and next week is my physical. I want that all done, and my mammo before we move, because we will probably be 90 days without insurance. This evening Preston asked to go to some thrift stores tomorrow, so I will take Jr. back to work when I get home from the dr. and then take Preston to a couple of stores in Greenville, and back to get Jr.

I felt a little better today, but still aching a lot; taking my new meds. again tonight. My arms are especially aching. Missie is aching too and is going to take her meds. tonight. She hasn't been taking them! Dr. said she needs to take them in case she does have arthritis. But she forgets on her good days when she is not in a lot of pain. I will try and help her remember when she gets home.

Well, Preston had problems sleeping again last night; even with the new medication. It was about 2 a.m. when he went to sleep and I was able to sleep. I pray he will go to sleep better tonight, as I have to get up early to go to dr.'s office.

Keep praying for us about a job for Junior!

What a day!

I just wonder why my life is always so exciting?? I surely could do with less excitement.

I have been out of my good medication that helps me the most; when I take it at night if I have a bad flair-up, the next a.m. I feel so much better. Well, I had run out and couldn't get any until today. And what I got today is a new medication to replace the other one, because our insurance did "prefer" the arthrotec. I am hoping and praying the celebrex works like the arthrotec did. So I am in a lot of pain, wore out, but just had to put a quick note on here.

We took Preston out to eat today since his check came in. We ate at IHOP and it was great. Well, then we all came home, and the guys stayed here and I went to Traveler's Rest to get my meds and a few grocery items. Well, I went to Dollar General and unloaded my stuff into the van, as well as my purse which had my keys in it, and when I shut the door, low and behold, all the doors were locked. Yep! It was awful. Well, Jr. is at home with Preston, and doesn't have any vehicle. What to do? Maybe he was tempted to leave me there, but I guess he decided he still needed me. LOL He went up the neighbor's and ask him to take him to me and bring me keys. So the neighbor did so, thankfully, and I told him I would pay him and he said ok, so I went to get the money. I only had a couple of ones and $20's, so ended up giving him $20 to drive 20 miles total, but with the price of gas, and then his time, it was ok. Junior said a locksmith would have cost more.

This evening I watched a movie, I think it is called "Facing the Giants." Now I know why Missie came out of her room in tears when she finished watching it. It was an awesome movie. It encouraged me to know that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD! Not even a move 500 miles away to get our daughter into a good strong youth group and Christian school. So since then, the chorus, "Nothing is Impossible with God" has been going over and over in my mind.

Then Missie called from youth camp and said they had an awesome service tonight. She said she had never seen someone under conviction in a service as she did tonight. But the girl was afraid to go the alter, so the people gathered around her and Missie said she lifted her hands and face to Heaven and prayed her heart out. Missie had been crying too. Missie said she had been trying to get the girl to go the altar. Now I was a little concerned because this youth camp is not entirely our doctrine, and I didn't want her to get confused. She went with her best friend as they may be the last time they get to do much together. But I think she will be just fine; she is an exceptional girl for her age, I feel, when it comes to spiritual things. This is why it is so important for us to make this move. Junior and I seem alone in this knowledge, that we need to do this for Missie. Families do not understand, nor do friends, at least most of them; but God does, and where He guides, He will provide.

I have got to lay down, but just had to share my heart.

Monday

Well, it's Monday!

On Sat. evening, Jr. and I got his resume done, and posted it in the local paper in Frankfort, and on career builder. But Career Builder is using the current address and he is getting emails for jobs in Greenville. So I went in there and changed the address to the Frankfort address, hoping that will help. If not, I will have to go to career builder and start all over. Oh me! Anyhow, I got the names of some woodworking shops and am mailing out resumes to them tomorrow. So we are getting things on the road. The job is the main thing. People were getting very nervous about our moving without Jr. knowing if he would have a job. But Jr. has never had trouble getting a job. And we have moved before to pastor churches with his having no job and God always provided. But we are working on the job end of it. We hated to have to use any money to go up there early, but Jr. and Missie plan to go up in a couple of weeks unless he gets a job before there. If he can secure a job up there and tell them when we are coming to live, he won't have to go. That would be a big relief; so please pray he can secure a job over the internet and not have to go. Even if the house is small, it will do for a while. So the job is the main thing. Having a wonderful church and school is more important to us than having a fine home. Our desires are not for temporal things; but for the salvation of our children; and Missie being in a strong holiness church and school. That is our deepest desire! When you put God first, He will not fail you! So many have forgotten how to trust God and to pursue Him but it is our upmost desire to do this.

Missie went to a youth group with our church youth on Friday night and really enjoyed it. I went to a friend's birthday party, then to another friend's store and she and I talked and laughed and hung out until I picked Missie up. I love this lady and am trying to get her back to church. She has an unsaved husband and 5 children, and she is spiritually, emotionally, physically exhausted. And you know; many don't understand this, BUT I DO!!! I have recently been there, and I know how it is. After Preston's long illness and recovery I faced this and am still not completely over it. I still feel so hungry sometimes for an outpouring of God's spirit like I used to see when I was younger. Not being critical; but we need the Lord's presence to make it in this day and time. I long to see old time conviction; people slain under the power of God; shouts of victory, not wildfire, or working something up; but the true power of God. We need it like never before. Anyhow, I am just talking from my heart.

So prayers are much needed and appreciated especially about the job for Junior.

Thanks and I will keep you posted.

New plans

Well, we have been praying, and thinking things over. We feel that Junior needs to make a trip to IN before we move, and apply for jobs and check on housing. We do have a house we can rent, if it is big enough. So we have extended our stay in SC until Sept 1st, instead of August 1st. He is working 10 hr days to make extra money so we can get some small bills paid off before we have to move. We feel God is in this move; but it will just take more time. If school starts there in Aug. we will get the paces and do them here until we get up there.

So Junior and Missie are driving up one day, probably on a Thurs., and on Friday Jr. will check on the job situation and housing, and come back on Sat. We are not sure yet when this will take place.

Continue to pray for us. God is the mountain mover and God knows the reason we are even planning this move to the faraway state of IN. Until a couple of weeks ago, I never dreamed we would ever move to IN. But the church and school sounds wonderful; and we are being led that way.

2 more hurdles to jump!

Well, now family knows our big surprise.
Next, the landlord has been told which will be next week.
Lastly, Jr. has to tell them at work, and work a notice.

WE ARE MOVING!!!! TO THE FARAWAY STATE OF INDIANA. (Martha C - SC is a faraway state for you, and IN is a faraway state for us!)

It is just amazing what all has transpired in a week around here.

I started checking some things out about moving close to Union Bible College which also has an academy and is close to Indy. But I started getting messages from friends on myholiness.com asking us to consider Frankfort, IN. It is just 40 miles from UBC where Missie plans to attend for college right after high school. They have a wonderful church there, I have been told that repeatedly by many people, including some who live here. They also have a strong solid school! AND believe it or not, a youth pastor from that church has a 3 bedroom house for us to live in! And the rent is about the same as we are paying here! I just can't believe how it is all working out; how doors are opening. Next is the job for Junior. There is another man from the church up there who sent me the name of one place and then he was going to go and check out a woodworking shop close by. There are several woodworking shops that have openings, and Jr. will be putting his resume in online. Hopefully he won't have to make a trip up there ahead of time; but hopefully he can pretty well know he has a job lined up when we do arrive.

The plans now are we are leaving here Aug. 1st and arriving to our new home in the faraway state of IN on Aug. 2. We will pack up on 1st and it will be late afternoon probably when we get to leave, so will get a motel and arrive in on Aug. 2nd. I was teasing our pastor today and told him not to tell Bro. Johnson to not let us have that house to live in. Our pastor is wonderful; I will miss his concern and big smile when he sees his people. The Goings will always have a special place in our hearts. But we feel it is very imperative to do this for Missie. She is so excited. Bro. Travis Johnson made such an impact on her at youth camp, and now he will be her youth pastor. She can hardly believe it. She said, "I have never had a youth pastor before." They have a good group of young people and I have been told they are very friendly to newcomers and that Missie and Preston neither one will have problems making friends.

Preston is a little concerned about moving, but not too much. He knows we need to do this for Missie. He hates to leave our church, but is dealing with it great! He just wants to be sure he can take his kitty; and I don't think that will be a problem.

So that is the big surprise! We just feel like it is time to move on. I don't know how God will supply all the needs like our medications and all until we get medical insurance and all, but I just feel so relaxed and confident that we are doing the right thing. A lot of people don't know this about me, but if something is not right for us, I get a really bad feeling and know it is not God's will. It is almost a feeling of panic; it is hard to explain. But this time, Jr. and I both have a calm feeling about this; that God is in it. It is worth anything we have to sacrifice for Missie to have some of her hopes and dreams come true, and that she will receive the spiritual help that she needs to receive, with other holiness young people and having a strong youth group.

Some of our families are a little concerned about this. But we have to do what we know is best for our family. It is normal that they be concerned, and it is ok. But the ultimate decision is between us and God, and we are leaning hard on Him. We know He will never let us down!

I have ached all day, and am headed to bed. I took ALL my prescription meds. tonight hoping to wake up pain free in a.m. I use the one very sparingly as it is expensive even with insurance, but dr. has changed me to something cheaper. So I will try it - it is for arthritis.

Night all!
Keep us in your prayers.

Preston is 20 today!

Unbelievable!!! My son is 20 years old. He had a good birthday this year. Last year he was in the hospital and very sick that day. I am so thankful to the Lord that he is so much better and happy on this his 20th birthday. But my digital camera has bit the dust! I am so perturbed! We just don't have the funds to go out and another one that will take good digital pictures. I hope we can soon, though.
Missie took a picture of Preston on her phone but so far we don't have the cord to download them to the computer, but when we get the cord, at least I will have one from today. I have one from when he and Missie shared the cake on her birthday, so I can post it. I will post one of his birthday last year and then this year.
He received $30 in money; and dvds for his gifts. He was thrilled when he got some phone calls and people sang to him; his nana in Canada; his grandparents in NC and he said when they got done singing he asked them who was off tune. I couldn't believe that! He then went on to say he thought it was Papa that was off tune. Only Preston would ask them something like that! LOL He is their only grandson and is very much loved; and they know how he is, so I don't think it hurt their feelings.
Missie's best friend, who he used to claim as his girlfriend and now tells people they broke up, sang to him too. So with his birthday supper last night, and a special cake today, he has done well.

Well, we spent over $200 to be told that Missie doesn't seem to have the "bad kind of arthritis" or a "connective tissue" problem, but she could have regular arthritis or fibromyalgia. I have fibro and my joints don't slip in and out of the sockets. I do not think it is fibro. Anyhow, he wanted to send her to an orthepedic dr. and I suggested Shriner's since we don't have insurance for her. He thought that a very good idea and they are referring her to Shriner's so we will see what happens there.

So that is the update on the children. Be patient about the big surprise; still needing to work out details and make sure family knows first, before the public does; if you know what I mean.

Until next time.

Thursday

Well, we took Preston to the psychiatrist today. He is trying him on a new sleeping pill to see if that helps. So we will see what happens. It was 2 a.m. before he went to sleep, so I am hoping he will sleep good tonight. We took him out to Steak and Shake for his birthday supper tonight; he picked where we ate. He loves to go there. Then we took him to dr. and stopped at Goodwill but he didn't find a thing, thank goodness, LOL. I told him he is a man now and it is time to put away childish things, LOL. The dr. asked about his moods and if he got angry at all. I had such a good report for the dr. along those lines! What a sweetheart he is most of the time, and how different that is from before. He is so much happier now. It is untelling how long that tubing and malfunctioning shunt has been causing him problems. But we are thankful the problem was found, and after almost losing him, we now have a happy son again. Tomorrow is the big day for him! It is hard to believe he will be 20.

We go to dr. tomorrow to see what he says about Missie's blood work and what the next step is. This week it has been her elbow. It kept coming out of the socket and then going back in. It was paining bad down her arm. So we will see what he says.

Missie and I got her and my closets cleaned out this week, and had bags of stuff that we passed on to a homeschool family with 6 kids. They love it when we clean out stuff; it is like Christmas to them. The closet looks sooo much better.
Next week we will tackle Preston's probably! That should be fun. He doesn't like parting with one thing! I snuck out a couple of things this week and he won't even miss them. He doesn't like it when I call the stuff "junk" that he has in his closet, LOL.

I may have something special to share in a few days! I can't even give a hint yet, but will be able to share soon. Just pray about a special request for our family.

Until next time!

Monday

Well, Preston is having sleep issues again. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. We are supposed to go to the psychiatrist later this week, and we plan to tell him about it. I have to get up 2 or 3 times sometimes after I go to bed because he cannot sleep. He never had problems sleeping before this last illness. All the meds. he takes should help him sleep at night; it used to, but sometimes now it doesn't work.

I woke up too early this a.m. and have been tired today. Missie helped me today, and I am so thankful for her help. Besides doing her room, she folded and put away clothes, put away clean dishes, vacuumed, helped with washing/drying clothes. She also fixed Preston's breakfast for him. I mopped the kitchen today. I also put some auctions on ebay, too.

So Preston is settled in; praying he will sleep because I am so tired. It is close to 11 p.m. and I am headed to bed. Hopefully I won't have to get up tonight!

Check in later!

My baby is home!

Well, Missie has been gone to AL all week to youth camp. The Lord really helped her there and she came home victorious. I am so thrilled! God is so good.

I am glad she got to go, but I am glad she is home. I missed her, but knew she was having a wonderful time.

Am tired, so it will short tonight.

Something beautiful!

Tonight, Troy Castle led the congregation in "Something Beautiful." You know, I realized then that I had somehow forgotten due to the stress of the past year, that my life really is beautiful. People tend to think we have it hard with having a disabled child. Well, that is true to a certain extent. But my life is beautiful because I gave my life to the Lord when I was 8, the first time. I never got out in sin; I still try to live and teach my children the way of Holiness and Biblical standards. We have each other; the 4 of us; my husband, myself and our 2 children. We have love and consideration for each other. We have a wonderful church and church family. So you see, I realized that the cares of life, Preston's illnesses, Missie's joint problem and depression, have overshadowed the fact that the Lord did make something beautiful of my life. How blessed I really am. I just need to remember to thank Him more for all His many blessings.

To get back to Missie's joint pain, and joints becoming dislocated, it is still about the same. The one knee is especially bad. The blood test that the dr. did and I cannot remember the name of it; was not an arthritis test, but he said arthritis tests were not very reliable, and he thought if she did have arthritis that the levels of this test should show high. Anyhow, it came back ok. So we are basically back to square 1, and have to find out what the problem is. We go back in a couple of weeks. I am going to see if Dr. Banks can get us into Shriner's since we have no medical insurance on her. They treated Preston for years and even did a surgery on his foot, so we are familiar with them and they are not too far from our home. So time will tell.

Missie left tonight to spend the night with a friend and on to youth camp at Pell City, AL tomorrow until Friday. She was so excited. It will be so good for her to be with all the other youth there. It is a much needed break for her. We are trusting the Lord that she will return home spiritually strengthened and lifted up! This joint problem has really worried her; not knowing what is wrong. She is a tomboy and loves to be outside but it slows her down.

I am so tired tonight. I have had a cold for a few days, and I just feel drained. I am so glad I made it to church tonight, though.

'Till next time.
