This is the only way it would let me post :(

Here it is December, where has time gone. I just realized this a.m. I have not posted pics of our new home, where we moved to in May. I am really bad at blogging now :( Preston is doing great! He did have a cold, but other than that, he is doing well! We are so thankful for that.Missie loves Union Bible Academy. She has moved into the dorm so she won't have to drive 1 1/2 hrs/day and during winter it would have been hard. She loves living in dorm and having her friends there. She is in choir and absolutely loves that and travels when they travel. She is maintaining a B average, and that is great! It was a big switch to switch from ACE cirriculum to textbooks, but she has done very well. We love our home, and spending our first holidays in it! Will post some pics.

Gallbladder!

Oh my, facebook has taken over my blog, I post all my updates there, and hardly ever blog anymore. But decided in case someone who likes to read my blog that does not have facebook, that I would update.

Preston had been having pains in his side for a while. We knew back in SC that he had gallstones. So a while back we had exrays and a scan done on his gallbladder and they couldn't even see it. Now we know why! Well, about a month ago, the pain got worse, and for 2 nights he hardly slept. The dr. did blood work and it showed an elevated white blood cell count. The pain subsided but then came back and the dr. had a CT scan done and they saw an abnormal gallbladder. So the dr. sent him to a surgeon and she set the appt. for him to have it removed. She hoped she could do it laparoscopic but alas, she couldn't. She came out of the OR to tell us all the scar tissue from previous surgeries were giving her a fit and she couldn't even find his gallbladder or liver, and had to cut him open. Well, she did that, and his insides were smashed together, and the gallbladder when she found it, was real thick and inflammed. She tried to remove it but had to leave a small piece and also the duct. That means he could get gallstones again. We pray he will not. The surgery took about 6 hrs. She stitched the end of the duct closed, but didn't know if the stitches would stay or not. She put a drain coming out of his tummy into a little bag so she could watch the fluid and be sure it wasn't bile. Well, when he went back for his post op appt. there was some green fluid and she was afraid it was bile. Preston wanted the drain tube OUT that day, and she was afraid to take it out. So the next a.m. he went to Indy and they were gonna put a stent in. Well, they put him to sleep and got down in there and realized he didn't need a stent, so he didn't have to have it. Anyhow, he was a bit disorientated and confused while in the hospital and didn't hardly get any sleep, so they let him come early and he did much better. He is doing so well, and bouncing back. He has lost about 17 lbs. since it all started. I am glad it is over, just hoping new problems don't arise in the future due to the piece of gallbladder and the duct that couldn't be removed. But I have to leave it in God's hands.

We love our new home, it is such a blessing. We are so thankful for the job Jr. has now and our new home. God has been so good to us. We basically had to start over when we left SC to move up here, to have a holiness high school for Missie. She only lacks 1 credit to graduate from high school, and she was even behind when we moved up here. She has applied to UBC in Westfield about 45 min. from here to finish her high school, and take college courses as well, starting next month. She is very excited about this. She will live at home this coming school year and drive back and forth. She wants to get her Missionary Nursing degree (missionary & RN). She has such a big heart and loves people and has helped take care of Preston since she has been old enough. She will make a wonderful nurse. She currently works at Dairy Queen and loves her job! It is hard to believe she is 17 years old now.

So that is the latest from the lives of the Watsons. Hope things stay calm and Preston will stay well for a very long time.

No home internet

Hello friends!

We got moved; what a job, mostly unpacked, just don't have all the stuff hung on the walls yet. I will be getting that done soon.

Missie is finished school for the year, thank the Lord. She is officially a senior in high school, where has the time gone? She was entering 9th grade when we moved here! She turned 17 on May 24th! On May 22nd, she was sick, but she wanted her and Connor to go out as planned, so I took them to Steak N Shake, it was her choice where we went. She had to have oral surgery again earlier that week, cause the one spot did not completely heal up, and got food and debris in there and it started hurting and was infected. Antibiotics didn't clear it up, so they had to open her up, clean it out and sew her back up. Well, the infection spread and got into her lung and she had what the dr. called "infection induced asthma." So she was on 3 medications for that, and is now doing better. We go back tomorrow to have it checked. All this was happening while we were moving. It was so hard not having her help, she helps me so much, but she was so sick, she couldn't help. Anyhow, on Sat. I took her and Connor out for her birthday, and got her a DQ Cake! I wish she could have felt better but she and Connor had a good time anyhow. He got her a hat, and she loved it! It was a perfect gift for her! We got her a book she asked for, and some other items. We are going to repaint her room and help her decorate it too.

Well, yesterday was a bad day! Preston has a hospital bed, therefore the mattress is foam. The plastic covering on it had cracks and splits in it. Well, he wet the bed! I used a fan and thought I had it dried but when he sat down last night, he got wet and it had soaked through the mattress clear to the bottom and was dripping on floor. Well, I had bought a drop sheet of plastic, and wrapped his mattress in it and he was able to sleep without being wet. Today Jr. and I took the plastic cover off and are trying to get the mattress dried. That was the beginning of the bad day. I went to clean the church for prayer meeting and the tornado siren went off. I knew Preston was home alone, so I paniced! I called him and told him to go inside and shut the inside door. He did that, then he called my mom and told her he wanted to warn her that we might be having a tornado. It scared her, of course. I called Missie at school and told her she had to leave as I didn't have a vehicle, and come get me and take me home. She did that, and by the time we got home the cloud had passed. I went back and finished the church, only to have the prayer meeting cancelled due to the weather. When this 1st siren went off, Jr. was at work and had to go to their storm shelter. Anyhow, it rained and hailed, and was windy and at 10 p.m. the siren went off again, as well as many other emergency vehicle sirens. So! I was at least home with kids, and Jr. once again had to go into their storm shelter. Preston was asleep and I knew I couldn't get him awake and up to go into the bathroom. The lights went out twice, but came back on, and we got quite a storm. At Jr.'s work, they were in the storm shelter this 2nd time and couldn't leave until it had passed. So we waited on his call telling us he was on his way. He made it home, and we tried to get settled down for the night. Well! Jr. came in bedroom with a container of water that he was drinking out, and the cat was laying at my feet on the bed. He reached down to pet the cat and spilled the container of water. He and I had to strip our whole bed, and by then I was exhausted! I slept fitfully all night, and am still exhausted today. I have been in pain too, this weather is bad for arthritis and fibromyalgia. Today has been much calmer, and maybe one day I can look back on this and have a good laugh ??? Not sure, lol

I only have internet on my phone right now, and it is hard to do much with such a small screen. But anyhow, this is the update for now. We are alive, and hopefully things will calm down now?? The tornados are not over though, I don't think. It hit close to Bedford, IN last night and damage was done. My brother saw it on TV and was so worried so he and I and mom and I talked a lot while we were waiting on Jr. to get home.

Hope you are all doing well!

It's May!

It is already May, and we get possession of our house the week of the 16th and will be moving that week. I haven't done a lot of packing yet. I have done some, but can't pack Preston's room til the day we move it. We have to keep his life as normal as possible til moving. Jr. has 2 vacation days he is gonna take off that week. We found out that we don't have to pay any deposits on gas or utilites. That is a huge plus, and we are so thankful. Jr. is losing some of his overtime, maybe all of it, but 40 hrs/week is more than some people are getting! We are thankful he has a job!
I am posting some pictures of our house. It has lots of room! We are hoping we can get some more furniture and replace our couch from yard sales hopefully. It will take time, but we don't have to rush.

Missie is working at DQ and loves it. She got her first big paycheck and was so thrilled. This summer she will work a lot more hours. This week she works 4 days instead of 3. She got this job by putting in applications and then checking back on her application. She is becoming a responsible young lady. She is almost at the end of her junior year. Unbelievable. She is dating Connor, who goes to our church and he attends our school too. What is really hard to believe is that his last name is Watson, too, but believe me, he is not related to us, lol.

Preston is doing great, not really keen on moving, but not going to pieces over it, either. The new meds. are doing so well for him. He is gonna love his new room, it is so big and has 2 windows in it! He is still collecting VHS. He has enough to open a little store, lol He also likes to buy computer games if he finds any he doesn't already have.

I will certainly take pics of it when we get in! Pray for strength and energy to get moved!

Long time!

So much time has passed and so many things have happened.

We are still waiting to see if we will get the house. It has been such a long drawn out affair I almost wish we had never started the whole process. Closing is supposed to be April 11. Steve from bank called me today and said we are still shooting to close that day. Not sure it will be that soon.

Missie is so excited. She is to get her license soon and has an interview at DQ on Wed. She hopes she can get a part time job there. I hope she can handle it all but she is afraid if she doesn't take it now, she will not get a job for the summer. She is so grown up now, it is so hard to believe. She had all 4 wisdom teeth cut out a week ago tomorrow. She did really well. I am glad that is over for her! She

Preston is doing well. Hoping it will soon be warm enough to ride his bike. He has had a few days to ride, and it is so good for him.

Jr.'s job is still doing great, 52 hrs. one week, 40 the next. So thankful he has a good job. Even though it is a Japanese company, their work is not slowing down at all. Hopefully it won't. It seems some of the men in our church will have a problem and have their hours cut.

Missie and I plan to go IHC for a day at the end of this month. I have never been to IHC. I watched the services livestreaming and also the archives and have been so blessed. Last year the services were tremendous! And I will get to see some friends and family that I haven't seen in a long time! We are gonna leave early Thurs. a.m. and come home that night after the evening service. Jr. is taking that evening off to stay with Preston. Then he will take the other 2 days off that he has ahead, if and when we move.

'til next time...

It's been awhile...

since I posted.

We got through Christmas. God was good to us. We don't have a lot of money to spend at Christmas, but the children are thankful for what they get! When our taxes come back we usually get them something that they need. Missie needs a new laptop, and Preston needs a new recliner.

It has been quite a winter here! Wow, lots of snow. Cold cold weather. I have lived down south to long, to really enjoy this. I miss South Carolina. Preston has been asking to go back down there and live! We will see what happens when Missie graduates, and moves away from home. She is in her Junior year and doing great! I am so glad she is a good student! It lightens my load a lot.

Jr. is still working 2nd shift but got the promotion and likes the new job at NTK much better. He works in quality control lab. He has about 5 people under him. I am thankful he was able to get this promotion!

So we are doing quite well. Time marches on so quickly. Missie wants to go to UBC at least a year, and then wants to also get her RN degree, too. She feels called to be a missionary, and a missionary nurse is even better! We are so thankful for our daughter; she is just a joy to our lives.

Preston has been taking buspar for years, for anxiety. Well, they quit making namebrand, and he has been taking generic. Lately, he is still nervous even with the buspar. We also have xanex for when he needs it, and it is working a lot better for him. So we are probably gonna take him off buspar and put him on the xanex. Yes, it is habit forming, but he will have to be on meds. the rest of his life, so I can't worry about that. He needs his anti-anxity meds. to cope. When he is not nervous, it helps us all!

So that is about it for this time!

November!

Is it November already? Hard to believe.
Missie and I flew to Canada and spent 3 days with my mom, & stepdad. My brother was on holidays, so he drove us everywhere we wanted to go! We had a wonderful time! The only problem we had when we got back to Chicago they had canceled our flight to Indy. They said we couldn't fly out until the next day. Well, I asked them about rerouting us and they were able to do that. But we had to fly to Washington, DC and then to Indy, it was a very long day and we got home about 2 a.m. on Thurs. morning! I will post a few pictures of my mom, etc.

We got a perfect report on Missie today, at her school. She is on track or ahead in all of her subjects. We are so proud of her. She loves her school, and studies hard. She is such a blessing to us. She feels called of God to Christian service, and that will please us! At this point, she wants to go to Bible College and major in Missions. She is also debating going through to be an RN as well. So we will see what God has for her!

Preston has been having headaches for a couple of weeks so he goes to neurosurgeon on Tues. in Indianapolis. I think he probably just needs his shunt adjusted; so thankful these shunts can be adjusted without surgery! Hoping and praying that is all he needs. He has been enjoying these beautiful warm days and sitting outside in his swing on our front porch.

Junior is busy at work. He likes the newest job he has at NTK, in the lab. He enjoys it much better than being out on the line. I am so glad he was able to get this job in the lab. He and Missie were planning to go to NC for Thanksgiving to his parents, but the trip is over 600 miles and it is too much driving for such a short time. So they are staying home for Thanksgiving.

So that is about all for now. I post all my pictures and updates on facebook, and don't blog as much as I used too.

September!

September is fast getting away from us. Unbelievable!

I will try and recap our summer.

Missie enjoyed being off school, and I did too, so we could get some extra rest! She attended 2 youth camps - one being right here in Frankfort at Pilgrim Youth Camp and the other being Athens in MI. One of the highlights of her summer was flying alone to Boise, ID from Indianapolis. She went to see James and meet his friends and family. She loved them all, and everyone was so sweet to her and gave her a wonderful vacation. But James and Missie don't feel they are the one for each other to spend the rest of their lives with. We have always taught Missie to not date anyone she doesn't feel she could marry. They just didn't seem compatible, so they mutually agreed to break up and remain friends. It hurt me and his family as well, but we want God's perfect will for both of their lives. She is in her junior year and this is her busiest year, even busier than her senior year. She has a heavy load. I am so thankful she is smart and gets good grades. But she works hard at it. She is very studious and we are so proud of her.

She and I are flying to Canada to see my family for Canadian Thanksgiving. We are flying out on Oct. 9 and staying until Oct. 13. It will be short but Junior can't take any more days off work to stay with Preston. Preston doesn't know yet. But he and his daddy will have a good time here. I haven't seen my mom in over 3 years, so I want to see her so bad. Pray for our safety.

Missie had a couple of bad weeks with her stomach. I took her to dr. and he said it could be an ulcer, or heartburn/acid reflux. He put her on meds. and she is doing much better. We are thankful for that. She missed 2 days of school from it. Her hypermobility is pretty bad if she does anything unusual. She went on a canoeing trip yesterday and both shoulders have been in extreme pain. I think I may take her back to Riley and see what they see. I also wonder if it might be more than hypermobility.

Preston has been riding his bike in this beautiful weather. He has ridden 5 days this week! I am so glad he can do that. It helps him feel better mentally, and helps his depression. He sleeps better at night, and the fresh air does him so good.
He is doing real well right now! We are thankful for that.

Junior got a new job within his company for $2/hr. raise. He is still working 3-11. Missie misses him cause during week she doesn't get to see him. They are so close, she is a daddy's girl. Preston and I get to see him a lot, but she doesn't. But we are thankful he has a good job.

So that is the update for this time!
