Here it is December, where has time gone. I just realized this a.m. I have not posted pics of our new home, where we moved to in May. I am really bad at blogging now :( Preston is doing great! He did have a cold, but other than that, he is doing well! We are so thankful for that.Missie loves Union Bible Academy. She has moved into the dorm so she won't have to drive 1 1/2 hrs/day and during winter it would have been hard. She loves living in dorm and having her friends there. She is in choir and absolutely loves that and travels when they travel. She is maintaining a B average, and that is great! It was a big switch to switch from ACE cirriculum to textbooks, but she has done very well. We love our home, and spending our first holidays in it! Will post some pics.

It's Friday!

Missie is so glad it is Friday! We have been in revival since Tues. night and she is wore out from school, and going to revival every night. But she does not want to miss a night. Junior and I have been taking turns going. John Parker, from our home church in SC is the evangelist! He is Missie's "mentor" so to speak and her "hero." I am so glad there are still some godly people for her to look up too!

We are very proud of Missie. She made the A honor roll, had the highest grade point average for her grade, and her and Ray tied for the most number of paces completed for the quarter! She is doing so well. School is EXACTLY what she needed. And you know what? John preached Tues. night that just because you have "storms" in your life, doesn't mean you are out of God's will. That made me feel so good. Because I think some people think we made a big mistake by moving up here. But Missie is so happy; and we needed to have her in a holiness school. God opened all the doors, and here we are; so all we can do now is trust Him to provide everything we need. He is on His throne. We ended up getting $360 in love offerings in the last 2 weeks. God is so faithful.

Preston had a good cry last night. We think John being up here might have helped him to realize how homesick he was. He cried and cried and begged us to move back to SC. He said he was going to see if John would give him a ride back to SC. He was also worried because of the problem of getting doctors for him; but that is working out. It has just been harder than we expected to get all the medical stuff worked out in IN. Missie went to the dr. about her arthritis. He is getting rest of records from SC and go from there. And hopefully he can help us get a rhumatoid specialist for her.

Junior and I are getting our medications from the Open Door Clinic, which is free for people without insurance, and some of the meds. come from the companies who make them, so we are so thankful for that!

Junior has worked 3 days this week for Mike. We are so thankful for every day he can work. We just live from week to week, trusting God to supply our needs.

So I guess that is it for this time! Keep praying for us, please!

Update

I guess I need to update about our family.

Our hearts have been crushed about Patricia, Caroline and Anthony going on to Heaven. We are especially concerned about Brent; the one who is left behind. I know without God's help; he couldn't make it. Anyhow, we have been trying to comprehend all of this; and it has hit us hard. Missie has cried a lot about it. Anyhow, please continue to pray for Brent. We didn't get the funeral in Terre Haute on Friday. Junior had the chance to work so he worked. I would have loved to have gone, but with it being about 120 miles according to mapquest, Missie would have been alone with Preston for several hours, and we weren't sure about that.

Monday is the day when Missie goes to the doctor. Thank the Lord. She has got to have help for this arthritis and it has gotten to be found out exactly what kind she has, and what they can do for her. Last night her knees were so bad, she could hardly walk when she got home from school. So we are excited about this Monday appointment. He is a great doctor. Preston and Junior really likes him, and he is helping with prescriptions for all of Preston's medications because there are hardly any psychiatrists who take medicaid, and right now, we do not have the money for one. Eventually we will have to go to one, I am sure. He is able to get a nerosurgeon in Indy that takes medicaid. Thank the Lord for that.

Last week and this past week Junior has only had 2 days of work. So it is slim pickens around here as far as money is concerned. We are hoping to find out more about Junior going back to school to get his certicate in auto-cad. I hope this works out for him, because having the certificate would look good on his resume!

Preston is doing well. He has decided he wants a wife. Well, we have had so many laughs today over this and some of the things he says, I have laughed until I cried. I needed that good laugh. Laughter is the best medicine for sure! He has had a super good day today even though it is Saturday. Sometimes he gets a little stressed on Saturdays, with knowing the next day is Sunday. But he tries so hard and is so proud of himself when he does so well. And I just remembered he didn't take any anxiety medication this evening!

We are supposed to get more snow tonight, and I am aching like we will get some precipitation of some kind tonight.

Well, that is all for now.

Keep praying for us concerning our financial situation! God has taken care of us this far and won't forsake us now.

Video & update

Here is a video clip of our church in Easley, SC; Patricia's parents and Bro. Going the pastor. Thought you might want to see it.

http://www.foxcarolina.com/video/index.html - you will have to clip on videos and find the one that says: Family Reacts After 3 Die In Van Crash

There is a viewing in IN on Friday, from 11-1 and the funeral up here is at 1. Junior and I are going to try and go.

I called Bro. Going tonight and it was so good to hear his voice! I guess I have missed Easley Bible Methodist more than I realized. Anyhow, please continue to pray for Brent; he is really suffering as anyone in his shoes would, and there is a viewing and memorial service in Easley tomorrow evening.

Bro. Going told me this evening that our current pastor, Bro. Mowery, would be a good pastor, as we probably already had found out. I told him we had found that out! We love Bro. Going, and we love Bro. Mowery. They are alike in many ways. We also love our associate pastor and his wife; the Johnson's. They are such sweet people!

Yesterday Bro. Mowery preached about helping each other. It touched my heart; because we are so struggling financially and I didn't know if I had anything I could give. He said if each family gave 2 potatoes (not a whole bag) to a family who needed food, then there would be enough potatoes for that family. I am paraphrasing, but this is what I got out of it. We all do have something to give. It may be small, but we can help someone. He said we will share in this economic crises; cut the meat in half if necessary. Isn't that wonderful?

I received a call this evening asking if we needed money. Of course, we need money, and they asked how much, and I said I was not saying. Whatever they wanted to give would be very much appreciated. God is taking care of us. We haven't missed a meal up to this point. We are still eating meat from that big bag of meat that was given to us on Christmas Eve. Junior went to a temp agency today and they had NOTHING! Some people like to remind us sometimes that Junior left a good job in SC. But it was already slowing down there before he even quit. So he doesn't know if he would have a job if he would have stayed there anyhow. Oh, and we found out he may be able to go to school and get paid for it. He can continue his education in the auto-cad, etc., and get paid for it. We have a man in our church who is a professor at a school pretty close to us; don't know the name of or location right now. That would great on his resume if Junior was actually certified in this area! So we will see what works out.

Keep praying for us.

It's Sunday

I had thought I would do a run-down of 2008 but so far haven't gotten that done. Anyhow, here we are in 2009, and a new president about to take over. Many are skeptical, myself included, about his leadership, but we have to rely on the fact that God is still in control and running this world. God gave the American people a choice, and the American people voted him in; I still can hardly believe this. I can say this freely since I am a Canadian, ha ha! But I feel American since I have lived here almost 30 years.

Missie went to the youth scavenger hunt last night, which I felt was a mistake, but she wanted to go so bad, but it caused her to have a relapse. She woke up sick again and had diarrhea and could hardly walk all day. So she has been in bed most of the day again, and has eaten very little. I am worried about her. I am glad we are going to the dr. on Thurs. If they can find out exactly what type of arthritis we are dealing with and can help her get it under control, it will help so much. She is very discouraged from being sick, and cried because she cannot go back to school in the morning.

Junior has to work for Mike in Indianapolis tomorrow. I dread it, it is about an hr. away and he is always late getting home. Preston sits and worries because he is late; it is stressful. But we have to do what we have to do. He cannot work for our pastor anymore for a while because 10 of his rental places are not rented at this time, and he cannot afford to hire him anymore right now. A week from tomorrow he plans to go out and try to find a job. He will go to the temp. agencies and see if anything is available.

Thank the Lord our church lives streams our services. It is such a blessing. I was unable to get to sleep last night and was so tired this a.m. I went back to bed but got back up in time to hear part of the service. Tonight Junior and Preston went and I watched the sermon live on my computer. Bro. Mowery preached a tremendous sermon. It encouraged me to keep on doing what we are doing! My main goal in life is to get my children to Heaven. We gave up comforts to live in IN and have Missie in a holiness school. But it is because she needed a holiness school and we had to give her this chance. It has not been easy since we moved here in some ways; but our church is wonderful, and the school as well, and God is taking care of us; so we can't complain. We just have to keep trusting Him!

You all have a good week. We will try to do the same. I will update after we take both children to the dr. on Thurs.

Happy 2009!

I hope each of you have a wonderful 2009! I am a bit skepical about this year, as most Christians are, due to the election. But one thing we must remember is: GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL! People have choices and many make the wrong choices. But we who know the Lord and do our best to live by His Word, and trust Him, can rely on Him to see us through whatever comes our way.

We are getting back to normal from the holidays. Our normal is somewhat different than other's, but it feels good to get back to our normal. Missie has been very sick. She spent a lot of her holidays in bed. First she had a horrible cold and used several boxes of kleenex, then got the stomach flu this week, and whenever a person with arthritis or fibro gets sick, it causes much more pain. She has been in tremendous pain. Thankfully, on Thurs. we go to the doctor. I have felt so bad for her; but she was glad she was sick when school is out so she didn't have to miss all this school.

I got some money for Christmas and got me a paint spinner! It makes wonderful backgrounds for cards! I am going to my creation blog and post some pictures of my latest cards using the paint spinner. I was so excited to get this! My card making keeps me sane!

Junior has worked for the pastor this week. But we are not sure how much longer he can work for him; as Bro. Mowery has 10 places that are NOT rented out right now. Please pray the Lord will send him some good renters. The apartment Junior is working on was trashed; it is so sad that people destroy other people's property. Junior is enjoying the remodelling. He was showing me what he did in the bathroom. I am so glad he is so talented, and can do most anything!

He plans to go to the temp. agencies one day and see about jobs; and see what is available, if anything. This coming week he has to be off to help me take both children to the doctor in Lebanon. I so wish we had a doctor in Frankfort. But none were here that would take medicaid; they were full up with medicaid patients.

So that is the latest! God is on His throne. A little later I will try to do a run down of our lives in 2008. It was a big year for us.
