I have been listening to my favorite song, "I'll Praise You In This Storm" and I want to type the words out for this. I don't necessarily like all the music but the words are the way I feel. When Preston was born and was so sick and in neo-natal, I heard the song for the first time, "God on the Mountain" and it ministered to me. This is the song that has and continues to minister to me at this time in my life.
Verse 1: I was sure by now,
that you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day,
But once again, I say "Amen"
And it's still raining;
And as the thunder rolls,
I barely hear you whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you,"
And as your mercy falls,
I'll raise my hands
And praise the God who gives
And takes away.
Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm,
And I will lift my hands,
You are who you are,
No matter where I am.
And every tear I cry
You hold in your hand.
You never left my side,
And though my heart is torn,
I will praise you in this storm.
Verse 2: I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again.
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on;
If I can't find you?
And as the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
And as your mercy falls,
I'll raise my hands
And praise the God who gives
And takes away.
I lift my eyes unto the hills;
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord;
the maker of Heaven and earth!
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands.
You are you who are;
No matter where I am.
And every tear I cry,
You hold in your hand.
You never left my side,
And though my heart is torn,
I'll praise you in this storm.

This song says it all! We know where our help comes from....God. So let the storms rage high. Glad things are looking up. God bless Missie and happy belated birthday. Hand in there.
Norma,
Thanks for sharing your song, I feel like we have become kindred spirits in a way, while are obstacles are different we still have had some major 2008 challenges. I'm glad things are going better. It was funny to read that you bought a red velvet cake, as that is my daughter's favorite kind of cake, and she will be 13 in August. Happy Birthday to Missie. I'm glad she was able to enjoy and spend time with her best friend.
Love,
Tina
I love this song! I love most of their songs. They always have great lyrics.
Yes, casting crowns do have good lyrics and real meanings to their songs, I just don't like some of the music, but this song has meant a lot to me.
