Here it is December, where has time gone. I just realized this a.m. I have not posted pics of our new home, where we moved to in May. I am really bad at blogging now :( Preston is doing great! He did have a cold, but other than that, he is doing well! We are so thankful for that.Missie loves Union Bible Academy. She has moved into the dorm so she won't have to drive 1 1/2 hrs/day and during winter it would have been hard. She loves living in dorm and having her friends there. She is in choir and absolutely loves that and travels when they travel. She is maintaining a B average, and that is great! It was a big switch to switch from ACE cirriculum to textbooks, but she has done very well. We love our home, and spending our first holidays in it! Will post some pics.

Asking for special prayer

for Bro. Terry Going. He is once again coming to IN to preach Brent Bigger's funeral. The tragedy of this precious family; Brent, Patricia, and their children has been hard on him; he has known them for several years. Please pray for added strength from the Lord, and safe traveling mercies to and from IN. We love the Goings! We still call them "our pastor." And Bro. Mowery is "our pastor" too. We are doubly blessed to have had 2 pastors like these men. They are some of God's finest. Their wives are equally wonderful, as well.

An update on our family is in order I guess:

Junior started his 3rd week today at his new job. He likes it pretty well. He is working in the "decorative metal" dept. He works from 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. We are adjusting to this shift. I don't get out at all during the evenings now, not even to prayermeeting. I miss that. But if I need to run to town or something I do it in the mornings now.

Preston has had a cold, and is still battling it. He is feeling a bit better today. He has not had the influenza with the high fevers; we are thankful for that. Missie too is still blowing her nose. She gets so sick of it! I try to get her to take her vitamins and vitamin c, but unless I get it out, she forgets, so I am trying to help her with that. She is doing great in school. Friday night is the high school play. I know it will be good.

The kittens are getting so chubby and so cute! Kids are begging to keep them, giving us 5 cat? No way! We have to get the mom and Preston's cat fixed to prevent this from happening again!

So things are pretty good right now. Our church is praying about something exciting. I can't elaborate right now; but it is sooo exciting! We are all praying for God's perfect will in this situation.

Tomorrow is Brent's visitation and funeral in Terre Haute from 11-3. We are unable to attend, because of the distance, and Junior having to work. But please pray for his family, and friends. It will be a sad funeral I know. It is just so unbelievable that the entire family is gone, just since Christmas. You might think this is crazy, but I had the feeling there would be a tragedy before this actually happened. I thought it would be concerning us. But it was the Brent bigger family, and my heart aches.

That is all for today.

Valentine's Day and more....

I realized that I had forgotten to tell about our Valentine date.

We spent 4 hours away, and it was great. We went to Lafayette and ate at my all time favorite place, Cracker Barrel! And yes, I got their chicken and dumplings which is my favorite. It took us about 20 minutes to get a seat, so we enjoyed looking at all the goodies in Cracker Barrel. We enjoyed a leisurely meal and finished it off with blackberry cobbler and ice-cream.

We stopped by CVS for some needed items, then my wonderful hubby took me to Hobby Lobby; my all-time favorite store! He dropped me off and he went to Meynard's. We both had a great time shopping! I, of course, bought some more card supplies and some supplies to make scrapbook pages to sell on ebay. I haven't done that since we moved. Animal scrapbook pages sell good! Well, while we were in Hobby Lobby, Missie called. She had a terrible head cold again, but she said she had a pain in her side. So I envisioned appendicitis maybe??? So I called Junior and told him, in a few minutes to come and get me so we would go home. Now it is very nice that our children are old enough to stay alone! We don't have to pay a babysitter, and it gives us time alone, which we desperately need. If you have a special needs child, you will understand. Even if you don't, all couples need time alone some times. Anyhow, we looked a little while longer and then came home. The pain was not in her appendix area after all, and surprisingly? we didn't hear too much more about it. I guess she just felt like it was time for us to come home.

Anyhow, we had a lovely time! Thank the Lord we had some money to go out; due to our tax refunds, otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to do it.

Preston's bicycle came yesterday; he is so thrilled about that. BUT he is sick with this sinus mess. I hope it is a mild case; I just don't think I can stay in a hospital right now with a sick boy! If it turns into pnemonia as it has for some others, he would be in the hospital. He keeps saying, "I'm sick," and "I hardly ever get sick like this." And normally he doesn't even get a cold, but has gotten it this time. Many in our church have been, and some are still, sick. Missie said everyone in the high school class had colds and she was listening to sniffling and coughing all day every day. She has gone through sooooo many boxes of kleenex since we have moved here, we must surely own stock in them!

Well, I gotta run to town and then pick Missie up at 12:30, and still have to get my hair fixed.

You all have a good day.

Monday again!

Well, it's Monday. We had a wonderful weekend! When Junior got off Friday a.m. at 1:30 he was off until 3:30 this afternoon. We so enjoyed having him home! And school was closed today for President's day, so Missie got to be with him today and she was happy about that. They took a trip to Walmart to get him some steel toed boots for work.

I felt better today. Not sure what was wrong, but the aching was much better today and I have more energy. I vacuumed and mopped floors after Junior went to work today. Tomorrow night my job is to work on mending and ironing.

Preston has a bit of a sore throat, but otherwise doing great! Missie feels much better today, too, she has been sick since Thurs. with this sinus mess again! I am going to be pumping her with vitamins, calcium and echinacea. I forgot about echinacea, and will be giving it to Preston and Missie for about a week, to get their immune systems built up! Then I will just give it once a week after that for a while. I think part of Missie's problem is she is not used to being around people all of the time, since we homeschooled in SC. Also, the change in the weather from SC to IN has played a part in it I am sure.

Her school (high school)is going to the ACE Competition in March. It is in Muncey, IN. There are 6 singing groups and she is in 4 of them! Singing is her talent, and I am sooo happy. Anyhow, she will be singing a solo, is in a duet, trio and a quartet! Isn't that wonderful? They may not win this year, but it is a wonderful opportunity for them to really try! They will be gone about 4 days or so, I think. The big problem that the girls are not happy with, is that they can't wear any jean skirts. But they can uniform skirts and dress skirts. I bought Missie some shirts today that were reduced for $3 each at Walmart that she can take and got her a couple at goodwill, too.

We are so thankful for our tax refund! It helped us get caught up on some things and Junior and I both an appt. to get our eyes tested and we both need new glasses. We neither one can see very well with the glasses we have. So Sat. we both go to Walmart and get our eyes tested and pick out our new frames. These frames I have now have really been sturdy and held up for years. But they are needing to be replaced.

Well, this is our 2nd week for Junior to be on this shift, and it seems a little easier, for us. By Thurs. he gets very tired. Thankfully it is over 4 days/week.

Oh, we have ordered Preston a 3 wheel bike. He cannot balance or ride a 2 wheel bike. He is sooo excited. It will be so good for him to get back to riding a bike. He used to ride for hours in TN, but then in SC he didn't have a good place to ride, and then was so sick. But it is relatively flat here and he is going to get back to riding. It will arrived fed ex sometime next week, unless it gets here earlier. He is so happy and excited. We got him a helmet, because he doesn't need to have any brain injuries, should be fall off. We told him he had to wear a helmet! He asked for a speedometer, a horn and a mirror so he can see who is behind him. We have all of these things, now we are just waiting for the bike. It will be such good exercise for him, and help him a lot! We have 2 way radios that he and I will use while he is riding. He won't venture very far from home. He was teasing at first and said he would ride to Missie's school and eat lunch with her. He would have to cross a busy highway to do that, and I told him no way! He would probably get killed on that highway. Then he said he would ride to goodwill, even to South Carolina! He was having fun teasing us! I guess knowing he would have a bike gave him a feeling of freedom. Sometimes he says he wishes he could drive so he could go someplace when he wants too. But his eyes are not good enough to drive nor are his reflexes fast enough.

So that is the latest for this time!

It's Wednesday!

Well, Jr. started his job on Monday afternoon. Tonight is his 3rd night. His hours are from 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Mon-Thurs. He gets home about 2 a.m. or so, showers and goes to bed and gets up between 10 and 11 a.m. I get up and take Missie to school. I have been sleeping at night even though he isn't here. I am so thankful for that, because I cannot function without good rest.

Missie really misses him the most because she doesn't get to see him very much during the week. She wrote him a note on Monday, and he wrote her back. On Wednesdays she gets off at 12:30 so they had some time together today. We actually all got to eat lunch together today. She was so happy about that. We are such a close family and don't have a lot of outside friends, and Junior said we have only have had each other to depend on throughout the years. So we miss our evenings together.

We have 3 baby kittens. They are so cute. Missie absolutely adores them. Her cat snuck out the door and took off and came back pregnant. We have managed to keep Preston's cat in so far! Anyhow, she had 3 baby kittens. Missie has named them all, of course, all names starting with K. Don't ask me what their names are, LOL.

Well, wanted to update. Preston is doing great with Junior's shift. We are so proud of him. Missie was concerned he might not do well, but he is doing great!

Tonight will be the 1st prayer meeting I have had to miss since we moved here I think. I hate to miss, but such is life. It is windy here and chance of thunderstorms and wouldn't want to leave Preston alone.

This is all for now!

Good and bad news!

Good news: Junior has a job; starts tomorrow.

Bad news: It is from 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Good news: In a couple of weeks he will be moved to 1st shift.

Bad news: We are not sure how Preston will do with this new routine.

I am sooo tired, and have a headache so can't write anymore tonight.

I have to share!

I can't help it, I have to share this.

"A man got up and testified that he was glad everyone wasn't like him, or EVERYONE would want his wife.

Another man got up and said he was glad everyone wasn't like him, or NO ONE would want that man's wife."

We heard this at prayermeeting and had a good laugh over it. Thank goodness for "light" moments in our lives. Laughter is the best medicine, for sure.

Well, things haven't changed much here except Junior may be getting a 2nd shift job, which we are not happy about. It will be from 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and it is about 35miles from here, 4 days/week. I am praying the Lord will help him get a day shift job before they call him to this other job. But I have to leave it in God's hands; to work it all out. He definately needs a job, but 2nd shift will be hard on our family. Supper is our family meal, but it won't be possible with this new job. Now you all might think that is a small thing to worry about, in the light of his getting a job. To normal people it might be. But we are not normal, LOL. And you already knew that, didn't you! For Preston that would be a disaster. He has been brought up that supper time is very important; that we all eat together as a family. So it will be a big change for him to not have daddy home in the evenings. But God will have to provide the grace if Junior gets this job. I don't want him out in the wee hours. But I have had to put it in God's hands.

Hoping to hear tomorrow about the next step for Missie. Talked to Stacey the nurse earlier this evening, and she is to get back with me hopefully tomorrow. She has to have help. She deals with so much pain!

So I don't really have much news, but will update as soon as I know something about any of these situations.
